Only once I tried eating shrimp, in a place that sells ramen. I must have eaten it wrong, because it was disgusting. Was I supposed to peel it first or something?

If it still has its shell, yes. I would have assumed the shrimp would have been shelled, but looking at some other posts about eating shrimp at ramen shops, it's not necessarily typical for the shrimp to be shelled, and some cultures tend to find the eating of the shell more palatable than others.

Personally, I'd peel the shell.
