Does anyone use TV only for DVDs/Blu-rays and video games? Has anyone never watched broadcast/cable TV and only watched DVDs/Blu-rays?

In my opinion, free-to-air/cable TV doesn't make sense (developing this opinion during the COVID-19 pandemic).

1 • Reality shows are toxic; they serve to give fame to people without talent, creating this culture of "famous for being famous," and most of them are scripted.

2 • Talk shows are superficial and the hosts used to be jerks (especially decades ago). The conversations are superficial.

3 • TV news programs are biased and sensationalist; a common behavior among TV news anchors is to blame something else when a tragedy occurs, like video games

4 • Variety shows look like a circus, It adds nothing to people's lives

5 • It doesn't make sense to expect a TV show to start at a specific time (people have routines, jobs, etc.) And there's another problem, for example, if a person wants to watch a TV show on one channel, but also wants to watch a TV program on another channel, but they air at the same time? What is this person going to do? It doesn't make sense.

The only content shown on TV that makes sense is cartoons/anime, series/soap operas, etc., children's tv shows, educational tv shows, comedy, live sports broadcasts and concerts/music shows.

I have been dvd only for years. Tons of free ones at my local library, and I have quite a collection from the bargain bin at my local walmar.t and garage sales. Nothing really worth watching on network or cable tv anyway.

We only do disks and I was given Roku so I look at VOD from PBS, FNX (they're pretty good) and NHK. My redline is ads. Start showing me an ad and you are dragged to the trashcan icon forthwith.
