Amazing Discovery: 9,000-Year-Old Submerged Sites Found Off West,
Underwater archaeologists from Flinders University and local Indigenous Rangers have discovered two ancient underwater sites near the Murujuga coast of Western Australia.
What was found? Ancient stone tools and a freshwater spring were discovered 11–15 meters below sea level, in an area that was once a human settlement.
Following the last Ice Age, rising sea levels submerged this site approximately 9,000 years ago.
Key Highlight - X-ray testing revealed that these stones were brought from an island 23 km away, showcasing the transportation capabilities of ancient humans.
This entire research was recently published in the journal Quaternary Science Reviews.

Human craftsmanship and history are hidden in these stones found beneath the sea in Murujuga. These are not ordinary stones, but ancient tools made by humans.
These are 'tools,' not natural stones
These stones found under the sea were not shaped by nature itself. Thousands of years ago, the Aboriginal people living here cut, scraped, and ground them according to their needs to turn them into tools. These include weapons like knives and axes used for hunting, cleaning leather, and cutting root vegetables.
