Hello ace sisters! My name's Matthew. I’m here because I really want to build something real and meaningful with someone who shares similar values. I think there are still people out there who believe that honesty, loyalty, and integrity matter most in a partner, and those are the kind of qualities I look for.
I will admit that I've struggled to find my place in the world sometimes because I don't exactly fit into the typical social box. I am AuDHD and aspie and live gracefully despite a gauntlet of medical quirks. They make life complicated at times, but they also make me a very empathetic and understanding person. Sometimes I overthink, but that's only because I feel too deeply.
If you care about personality type inventories, mine is INTJ (Meyers-Briggs) and 5w4 (enneagram). Here's my translation of those labels: I come across as incredibly analytical, independent, and hard to read. But the truth is, I hold a very high, almost sacred ideal for connection. I have zero interest in casual dating or surface-level relationships. I am a hopeless romantic because if I am going to let someone into my private world, I want it to be a rare, deeply meaningful, and entirely authentic partnership where we truly understand the rawest parts of each other.
I consider myself an introvert who loves reading and studying all kinds of things like biology or philosophy. When it comes to relaxing, there is nothing better than just existing in the same room as someone I care about while we both do our own thing. Whether you're playing games (like Stardew Valley), listening to music, or working on a project, I find that kind of shared quiet time really recharging. And when we do go out, I prefer simple things like walking through a park or along a trail and just talking about whatever comes up.
I identify as demiromantic and gray-ace, so for me friendship always has to come first. I need to feel emotionally safe with someone before anything else can happen. But once that bond is there, physical affection is really important to me; holding hands or cuddling on the couch makes me feel connected and secure in a relationship. Oh and I'm a massive sweetheart, so be warned, I readily melt and show warmth.
My goal is simply to find my best friend. I know how hard it is to open up when you've been let down before. I'm looking for someone who sees being different as an asset rather than a burden. I am looking for someone who wants a real connection without the need for masks, no games, and absolutely nothing you have to apologize for being. If you want a partner who will accept all of you without question, then that’s exactly what I offer in return. If you're comfortable with yourself, if you can accept your own quirks, then I know I can be myself around you.
I think the best way for us to see if there's a connection would be to start talking and see where it goes. I am very open to voice chats or even video calls once we both feel comfortable with that. It might also help if you share some photos of yourself so I can put a face to your name, though there is no rush on that.
I'm not looking for anyone perfect—just someone real. If that's you, please find the courage to send me a message and tell me something about yourself. No matter what happens, thank you for reading this far and considering reaching out.
P.S. I'm open to QPRs and friendship.
P.P.S. I prefer chatting with ages 21-34, especially 24-30, with room for exceptions. I will make friends with people anywhere in the world, but because physical presence is important to me in a romantic connection, it's unlikely to work out with me if you're not in the same country or at least continent.
