Discussion Help with translation and writing

Post image

Hello everyone,

I would like some assistance with writing and translation please, I am getting a tattoo and want to ensure it is written correctly, my brother can read some Assyrian/Chaldean Aramaic but I’d like it proofed please. I have used ChatGPT to write it.

What it should say is “time is short, time will show”. I understand there are different typefaces and dialects. The translation to sureth is “Zowna Kirya Ileh, Zowna bid makhzya”.

Thanks in advance!

Shlamalokh!

This is from the book "Chaldean Grammar."

I am currently learning, just wanted to share what is in the dictionary from the book with you.

I really like the writing style and message!

Never heard the word zwna used for time.

ܥܕܵܢܵܐ
Dana kirya le
Dana makhzeeya

ܡܲܚܙܝܼܐ

Someone spell check me since the font on keyboard confuses me a bit.

You’re correct, we also say Dana for time. Zowna is more so used for a period/era, this is how chatGPT translated it.

In this context, Dana (time) is a feminine word so the “kirya le” would actually be kreeta or kreeteh la. I think your tattoo is poetic but not for the literal translation of time.
