Discussion Allul Ancient Sign

Has anyone else heard of this? Before it was given the name C*ncer, it was often seen as a sea turtle in ancient Babylon/Mesopotamia times. What do we think of this? How impossible would it be to switch the sign between Gemini and Leo’s name to Allul? Thoughts….?

This reminds me that in the 70s the sign Cancer briefly became Moon Children.

I love this. Moon children sounds like a fun change for me. Thank you!!! Would actually be cute to rename all the signs like this. Cancer is just a major trigger for me right now and I love all my friends born under the sign so I’m dreaming of calling them something else

you can call anything what you want because that’s simply how naming and meaning-making work. the same way venus is also aphrodite is also inanna is also isis. the specific name being used isn’t only to identify the specific being but to also add context of that being: its cultural/historical expression or the background of the speaker using the name.

if you’re asking if this name could be popularized instead of “cancer,” my follow-up question would be why this specific constellation? are the ecliptic constellations not a single cycle/journey, meaning they all have babylonian names ? I’m just pointing out your intent seems to be one-dimensional and trying to understand.

It’s true, I’m just struggling because my sister passed last week from cancer so I just don’t feel like using it for the sign anymore 😭 it’s a selfish reason
