I tried the exact same kazoos and it is damn near impossible to not get that generic cracked sound at those volumes. what do you think is happening here?

joke aside, you can get quite a smooth sound replacing the membrane and some mouth techniques. not to this degree as I've seen

This seems like some kind of joke video where they are taking a video game soundtrack or some traditional song and pretending to make it on found objects. Maybe I'm wrong.

Looking at the rest of their channel I think that's what's going on though. For example I don't think we're supposed to believe the lady is shredding a perfect koto line on a badminton racquet.
