Diatone ds261 stiff woofer surround

These PW-2522BM woofers have stiff surrounds, thus very little movement. I've been advised to apply some brake fluid. Is this wise?

Do not use brake fluid for this, it’s very bad for the speakers - search for something called “surround dope” for this specific woofer, if google can’t help try eBay as a few people sell more specialized speaker dope there. You’ll wanna apply it outdoors with appropriate PPE as it’s generally pretty gnarly stuff and usually has fun chemicals like toluene that you’ll want to be careful with.
