51 years in one show is a long time.

I first listened to The Science Show on a crystal radio and now I listen to it via Podcast.

Fun fact: while at university in the UK he was an extra in Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Goodies and Doctor Who.

Been tuning in since high school. Gotta miss seeing him. Hopefully the new one will be interesting.

He's had an off-sider for a while, Belinda Smith. Hopefully she will keep the standard up after taking it over completely.

Edit: forgot a word.

Absolute legend, he was "old" when I first started listening and now I'm old hahaha.

So the rot continues.
The ABC crumbles as its honoured staff leave and its treasured programs are cut one by one.
And all we have left is a festering RW swamp.

I understand why some of you think he’s a legend but that is far from my experience.

Boooooo, no one asked you. He's a fucking legend and is gracefully stepping aside. WTF have you done?
