Do Not Discuss Bar Exam Content

Good luck on the exam!

Tomorrow, legacy examinees will take the MEE (no topic disclosures allowed) and the MPT (no content disclosures allowed). Wednesday they will take the MBE (no disclosure of questions and answers).

NextGen examinees will get two, three-hour sections of new-style questions (including some multiple choice that are similar to the MBE) on Tuesday and one more three-hour section Wednesday. All items from this exam are secure and may be reused on a future exam and may not be disclosed.

Also, accommodated examinees for both exams will be testing all week and would benefit from disclosures of content earlier in the week.

This is an issue of fairness, copyright (which could get the sub shut down), and ethics. NCBE does monitor this subreddit and regularly contacts us regarding violations of these rules. You also agreed to these terms as part of the exam rules.

Therefore, any discussions of exam content as described above will result in bans.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation on this, and good luck on the exam!

Hi folks,

The bar prep channels are once again open and available in the /r/lawschool discord server.

Click this link to join!

Once you arrive, please make sure you assign yourself the JD role so that you will be able to see the bar prep channel.

Once you have assigned yourself a role. Navigate to the channel called #bar-preppies. There you will find:

  • Support from attorneys who have already passed the bar.

  • Free study resources.

  • Friendly folks who will study along with you.

Please be patient as the channel populates with more bar preppers. We are just beginning our recruitment for Feb '24, and we hope to have a large group joining us once again this year. Past years have seen study groups of 50 or more folks.

Good luck, everybody!

Gentle reminder that even if you fail the bar exam, you can still unlock a legendary achievement: shortest-serving White House press secretary in U.S. history.

I first joined Reddit when I was 19 and studying for the LSAT. As a first gen law student, I can’t believe I’m here and passed on my first try, especially becuase I was sure that I failed after the horrible MEE.

Seperac predicted I would get a 326, I passed with a 309!

OH Bar First Time Taker

Legitimately thought I failed lol so glad that the wait is over. God is good. Completed 75% of Themis course just ripped UWorld MBE questions (personally think that’s best way to learn rules) and early in prep did full essays and then moved to just outlined essays. Never did a full MPT. Also used AI to quiz me on MBE and MEE topics. Last 2 weeks moved to active recall techniques on rule statements. If you know rules you can create your analysis. Knowing the rules is the most important.

how do i manage an impending panic attack on results day?

the mere thought of the next few days is causing me literal hives. my heartrate immediately starts racing and i feel out of breath, like i'm about to faint or have a legit heart attack. i am just beginning to accept whatever fate comes my way but it's still really difficult.

even just thinking about results has me concerned. i can't control neither the thoughts nor the physical reaction. i just worry that like i'm going to get hospitalized when the results come out ugh. to fail AND have a heart attack in front of everyone then be hospitalized would be mega-embarassing. how do i be okay?

i secretly wish someone would just hack into the DC Bar and leak my results so i can have closure or so i can start studying for feb (jk for legal reasons).

in any event... LORD HAVE MERCY ON US THIS WEEK PLEASE. I WANT RECORD PASSAGE RATES ACROSS THE BOARD.

I PASSED!

Flew cross-country alone to sit for the NextGen in Oregon because I felt that test format gave me a better chance than Legacy UBE. My state adopts NextGen in July 2027 and the job I’d accepted would not let me defer that long. I was lucky enough to have frequent flyer miles to cash in, plus savings.

I made my husband opened the message yesterday. I just sat there, speechless, which is not like me 😂

I was a nontraditional student (started 1L when I was 33). I’m the first person on either side of my family to attend law school. I was diagnosed with autism growing up and have had a lot of struggles from that.

3x the charm. I PASSED THE BAR. 😭⚖️

I originally scored a 266, and that exam took so much out of me. I knew I was only 4 points away, so I told myself to give it another go. I’m in a 270 jurisdiction, July 2025.

Then February 2026 came around and my score dropped to a 257. That was soul crushing. At that point, I seriously wanted to transfer and just be done with it. But I had to sit with myself and really think about what I wanted. I didn’t want to give up on myself.

Not saying transferring would have meant giving up, but I had a vision for where I wanted to practice, and I wanted to see it through.

So I gave it one more shot.

July 2026: 278. 🥹
I’m so proud of myself for not letting those scores convince me I couldn’t do it. I’m grateful I gave myself another chance, and I’m VERY glad to finally put this chapter behind me.

3x really was the charm. ⚖️❤️

If you missed subparts for multiple mees what was your written score assuming that your mbe score is reported on the letter? If a breakdown was provided, explain in depth

Passed Ohio UBE

This was my third time taking this exam. First score was 243(J25), 257(F26), and 285(J26).

Failing the first two times put me in a dark place no doubt. Lost jobs and was very immature and angry. I am born American and lived here my whole life but English was not my first language and I didn’t start reading and speaking full English until about 5th grade. Naturally, reading and writing were not something I was quick with during exams. This was throughout my entire academic career.

I wanted to give up and doubted myself almost every day. Even after I took this past exam I was not certain that I passed. I knew I did better this time than the last, but passing was something that was just a dream that never seemed to be ascertainable.

This time I focused on my faith in Jesus and sacrificed a lot. Needless to say, the first time I took it, I did not give it my all. I “studied” but I was lost while studying with no direction and hated the entire time. The second time I thought I had a better study plan but I worked part time at a firm coupled with letting my emotion dictate my day. The third time I only studied by doing practice question’s on adaptibar until I got repeats, around 33 timed questions so that time would not be an issue on exam day. There were days where I’d do more than 33 because I wanted to focus more on those questions. Reviewed ALL my incorrect answers after every practice set. My overall average was about 65% with the later of my practice being close to 70-75%.

MPT’s were my weakest subject so I tried to get better at those by practice old NCBR released questions (I never got good at these and accepted that and still practiced 2 times a week min.) for MEE’s I did all the adapitbar essays which is a lot and also did all the released NCBE MEE’s and read the point sheet.

Essentially, I only did practice this time with a focus on understanding the black letter law for each subject so that even if I read a question on exam day that I didn’t know verbatim (the rule), I’d be able to think of something that is related (this is what people mean when they say make up law for essays).

I have anxiety and trouble focusing and I didn’t have accommodations (No disrespect, just so that I’m being transparent). You can push through this.

One of the best days in my life that I got to share with family and friends.

I put my score sheet in this so that you can see. I’ve liked some threads on Reddit. Sometimes they help and sometimes they don’t. Either way I was depressed and spent a year doing this process to get my pass. You can too. I love you all. God Bless you and us.

Passed the Ohio bar!

Don't let this sub get in your head.

After reading post after post on here I was completely convinced I failed. I walked out of the essays feeling terrible and spent the last few months preparing myself for bad news.

Then results came out. I passed with a 334 (270 needed) and somehow got perfect 6s on three of the MEEs. My scores are posted above.

Some background: I barely got into law school. I scored a 146 on the LSAT. I ended up graduating in the top 10% of my class and now I got bar results I never would have imagined.

If you're studying for February or waiting on results please hear this. If you take the time and put in the work, you can make it. Don't let the negativity on here convince you otherwise. How you feel walking out of the exam is not a reliable predictor of how you did.

Your LSAT score doesn't define you, and neither does this sub. With that, I'm happy to finally leave this toxic thread. Good luck to everyone still in the trenches!

God please let these people get their scores.

This experience has taught me that the body holds stress in a way that the mind cannot see. After getting the notice that I had passed, I realized that my heart had stopped beating through my chest for the first time in over a week. Back to an old normal.

Wishing you all that same release.

NextGen - 689

Signing off for good, wishing you all the best celebrations now or the strength to study again in February. If you have any questions about next gen, hit me below.

With love.

Unless it posts in the next half hour which is possible I guess no Michigan yet.

Do you guys think the people with all our scores, which are all definitely done and ready to go btw, sit around in a circle sipping wine laughing at the posts we make describing the anxiety we have as we wait for results to post? I do
