It's not official yet, but a Brewers vs Guardians World Series sounds really fun! Either Milwaukee wins their first title or Cleveland wins their first since 1948
9
u/ChefCurryGAWD San Francisco Giants 1d ago
While I am glad Brewers beat the Padres and on the way of beating the Dodgers, I still think I want to pull for the Guards if they finish it.
3
u/BoosherCacow Cleveland Guardians 1d ago
Thank you, we would need all the help we can get. That Brewers team is one hell of a ballclub.

u/bakeranders 1d ago
Some people would call them a pessimist but they’ re really a realist. Unless [u/InfiniteJackfruit5](u/InfiniteJackfruit5) is almost 90 years old they have seen The Tribe get to The Series and lose their whole life. The fact that they’re STILL a fan, makes them a good fan
Them behaving like this is a way of psychologically protecting themselves from a devastating loss. They ultimately want the Guardians to win, but believing they’re gonna do it and getting their hopes up only for them to lose is doubly crushing. If they assume the team is going to lose and they’re wrong then their team won and they can celebrate that. If they assume a loss and are correct then they can celebrate themselves being right. They’re just protecting their psyche from a crushing defeat.

Not really it’s sore winner shit to mock your opponent, even moreso when you haven’t actually won anything of merit. I was laughing at the divisional champ banners Tampa has on display in the Trop lmao.
Vlad last year and Junior this year. Two losers.
Leave it to a Philadelphia fan to have this dumbass take.

Lol yeah the guy winning his team the pennant as MVP is a loser.
For years the pennant was what teams played for until people realized they could earn more money.

-7

And as a grown man I’ll never understand other grown men who do what Junior did. Act like you’ve been there before. Derek Jeter is far better than either Junior or Vlad will ever hope to be and I don’t recall him ever mocking an opponent in the playoffs.
It’s like other teams love to shit on what they’ll never be.

“Act like you’ve been there before” is the most weenie shit imaginable.

You also wouldn’t, and you won’t.
2

The Rays really looked at our guys and said "you know what? We absolutely LOVE their hitting approach".

Junior staring at meatballs down the dick and swinging at garbage 2 feet above the zone is doing a lot of carrying for Cleveland tbh.
But yes, their pitching has been carving up the Rays.

Cleveland is carrying its own weight. Should be 3-0 right now if not for Jose’s error in game 2.
1
u/Slinky_Malingki Tampa Bay Devil Rays 1d ago
Why tf are people mad at me? I agreed that Cleveland's pitching has been fantastic, but that the Rays' approach at the plate has been terrible and they're hacking at garbage pitches. Both can be true.

Cleveland is red hot and definitely look like they have the advantage to win the pennant.

I was there in 2023 when my Dbacks and the Rangers made it. Non stop articles about how bad the ratings would be, why expanding the Wild Card was a bad idea, how every series should be 7-games, how the team with the best record in the regular season should get a bragging rights trophy. Non. Stop.
Brace yourself for this year if the Guards and Brewers make it. The MLB media will not care about the teams playing but everything else around it.

1 earned run versus 3 unearned runs by the Rays.
As stated, it should be 3-0 right now.

When you only score one run, the pitching and defense has to play perfectly. Hard to to do over nine innings so 2-1 feels fair.

Yea the Yankees tried that and lost against us. We are beating ourselves. As the Guardians are eerily similar to us…

I get the sentiment, but the only team that has beat itself this series is the Guardians in Game 2. Neither team had batted well the last two games, though.

Hard to bunt without anyone on base. Our pitching has just been electric and the top of your lineup is cold right now. All you guys need is one big hit from the top of the lineup to get things going, I still think this series is going to the wire

One game at a time. I know that's cliche to say but still holds true. I'm not even thinking about the WS just yet. Only up 2-1. Imo, game 4 is pivotal. Guards need to get that one. Then the real pressure is on the Rays.
