Advice needed please!
Hi guys
I havent played my bassoon in years and quit lessons at least 5 years ago
It definitely needs a service before being sold and a look over to check for repairs but didnt know the easiest way to sell?
I sent an email enquiry to Howarth London as i bought through them but they said they arent accepting second hand bassoons at the moment
And advice on easy ways to sell around london / south of england? Partner suggested just listing on ebay but im unsure of that!
Thanks 😊

I can't offer any real help here. But coincidentally, my 16-year old son has played violin for 7 years, but now deeply desires to transition to bassoon (he borrowed one at the moment, had his first lessons). While visiting London for work yesterday (I live in EU), I stopped at Howarth's and asked about used instruments. So, I might have been interested in hearing about your instrument, had we been there at the same time.
So, we're actually in the opposite position: within a year he will need to give back his borrowed instrument, and we will likely be looking for a used one to buy. But finding a good used bassoon doesn't look as straightforward as finding a good secondhand violin or piano.

I was in a similar situation while buying! I had ran out of time renting from my local school of music and i found Howarths great - but I also knew exactly what I wanted as I needed a short reach bassoon... its a shame I only used it for a couple years before giving it up! Good luck with buying!

What bassoon is it? Also, there's a couple Facebook groups you could try listing it in, Bassoon Market is pretty good. Ebay isn't a bad place to sell either! People are always looking for bassoons, so wherever you decide to list it, chances are you'll be able to sell it!
