Working on some bar style taillight covers!

I’ve always loved taillight covers and don’t really see any readily available for bugs, still working out the kinks, thinking of going to a design that doesn’t catcher the bolt holes and just sticks on with 3m tape for a cleaner set of lines, but still dig this shape too!

Gonna need to see more of that motor setup. Where is that turbo hidden?

Hidden under the fender! It’s my bosses car, eventually he’ll be revealing the whole set up once complete, it’ll be a rocket.

I have seriously considered moving the package tray forward and mounting a turbo above the transaxle.

I've seen that done on a few drag cars here in Oregon. It makes for a clean setup.

I have a turbo setup that is intended to go under the rear apron and feed a water to air inter cooler attached to the fan shroud. Sadly, I haven't gotten around to installing the whole kit in one of my beetles.☹

Funny enough, he seriously considered this option! Hidden in fender just worked out as a way more simple option, but If you ever decide to I’d love to see how it turns out!

I think recessing the holes with some screws that sit more flush would clean it up. You’ll patina match the covers?

That’s what I was thinking too, I like the bolt look, so will have a bolt and bolt-less version. And yeah we are thinking some patina or nickel plating them then polish to match the chrome!
