Truth nuke, I love Renji and Rukia sooo much, they’re such a cute pair
but also this panel is just absolutely fucking funny
He’s saying it so casually like “You may not”, honestly Byakuya is funny at such random times it makes him even funnier

I got my best friend into Bleach back when it aired by telling him it was DBZ with swords. I showed him 2 episodes out of context: Renji vs Byakuya and Ichigo vs Kenpachi. He still messages me about Bleach weekly.
In the English dub,
B: Where are you going Renji?
R: I'm going to save Rukia! (Shitting himself in fear)
B: No. (The most deadpan direct delivery makes it both badass and hilarious).
Also my headcanon is Byakuya was holding back against Renji and towards the end threw his fight against Ichigo during the Senkei phase "these blades won't attack you all at once", and later IMO he intentionally deactivated Hakuteiken (SBZs power is to scatter, debatable if Ichigo could break Byakuya's bankai or if a weapon that scatters is arguably immune to getting broken) in part inspired by Renji and Ichigo.

I always thought Renji was the better choice for Rukia than Ichigo. Ichigo and Orihime always made more sense to me anyway

I prefor couples that have banter and genuine chemistry instead of soft girl and cool mc type
That why I prefer narusaku over naruhina

What's crazy is Byakuya was waiting for him.
He KNEW why he was there. And still asked him like "I'm here now, you sure you want to keep that energy?"
And Renji still stepped up, and Byakuya still beat his ass 😅
Soul Society Arc really was just different, idk

I like Renji as a character but the Ichigo x Rukia chemistry was just off the charts so that’ll always be my bias.

IchiRuki and RenRuki are my favorite pairings in Bleach! I just love how our boy Renji pined for Rukia for so many years. I really hope We Do knot Always Love You gets animated, but honestly, knowing their wedding is canon and that their love story was written in a novel is good enough for me!

I love how kubo make panel where it's showing renji reaction towards byakuya and still encouraging the fight with him , at past renji was just trying to use surpass byakuya but in actual fight he didn't turn back.

Shonen is a demographic, not a genre.
It appeals to 9-16 year old boys, hence the definition.
Bleach is a "Battle Manga" - which is the genre that everyone mislabels as Shonen.
But there are other genres, Shonen Jump doesn't just have Battle Manga, some of the other series even found within Shonen Jump are all about, funny enough - chasing pussy.
To Love Ru, Nisekoi, We Never Learn, Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs - All Harem Romcoms that were published in Shonen Jump alongside Bleach.
After all, the Battle Manga's appeal to boys is the protag being the biggest badass and the massive scales of power - a power fantasy.
Harem Romcoms are the other side of the coin, being surrounded by all the various girls while the protag is a generic nice guy like the reader - a different kind of power fantasy.
