Need Help! Choreographing a Fight Animation??
I do not know how to go through to this with my head all over the place. I am trying to choreograph a fight scene for a project and I am just stuck. Storyboarding it is criminal and I do not know how to approach it.
Like anime goes off the source material and animated it or add in a twist to it. Original works have storyboards and uses reference to make the fight fluid. But the problem I am having is just approaching it.
I do have martial arts background and let’s just say that stuntman and martial artist (even though they have a background in martial arts) are purely for the fight are two different things. I know how to punch, kick, roundhouse kick, and etc. etc. But choreographing a fight from the ground up is hard to do. Someone told me that I should approach it like it is a dance, but that is also putting stress in my head since I do not know how it flows, the rhythm of the movement.
So what suggestions do you have to approaching choreographing a fight scene?
