Discussion Win Total Regular Season
So what are your predictions for our regular season win total?
I've got us at 47 and 5th-6th seed. I think the team will play really hard and be a lot of fun to watch. I don't trust PG or Mitch making through an entire season unscathed.
I'm also really hoping to see nuclear Tatum again.

I’m thinking mid to high 50s, bench and rotations too deep to not get to 50

53 wins feels doable. You gotta remember the east isn't gonna have as many punching bag teams this year, so not as many easy Ws. I'm eager to see Queta Walsh Baylor and Hugo continue to improve

“You gotta remember the east isn’t gonna have as many punching bad teams this year”
Clearly someone don’t watch the sixers game yesterday

I definitely enjoyed that game but it’s still just a preseason game. Sixers need time to build some chemistry and LeBron knows how to pace himself - they’ll lock in down the stretch but I won’t be surprised if they’re out of the top 3.

I don’t know how this team doesn’t top 60 wins.
Our bench is going to destroy teams.

Absolutely no way we don’t finish top 4 seed I’m sorry OP, not sure why you’re so low on them

Fwiw, vegas has our number at 51.5, 2nd highest in the east and 4th in the league

50 win roster easily. Tatum for brown who’s a better passer and a better player in general. PG is more complementary of an offensive and defensive piece than a guy like Simmons (I do love Simmons tho), rest of the team is the same if not a bit better with having a year of experience under their belts in their respective roles + Mitch Robinson will fit the team really well in the 40-50 games he plays
East is a bit better, but teams that should take a leap - Miami, Philly, Toronto, have pretty serious injury concerns given their additions have missed significant time the past seasons. Indiana will be better this year too obviously, but I’d imagine we are like 3rd seed with 52 wins

Probably going to be similar to last year for regular season. Lost JB, but gained Tatum and however many games of PG we get.

Team will be better than last year even as long as Tatum is healthy not sure we will necessarily win more games but I think 50+ wins is more likely than not

Celtics have been first or second in offensive and defensive rating for each of the last 4 seasons. I expect them to be a top-3 team in the east.

We essentially lost no essential regular season pieces if you consider Tatum and brown a straight swap and were already a better regular season team than most of the others. Don’t see how we finish worse than 2nd even if I would favor a few teams in a playoff season at the moment.

It’s not the same competition this year. You cannot make that comparison. Hell the Wizards have the pieces to be a pest this year their bottom of the barrel they got the number one pick +tray +AD .

Even without Robinson and George, the idea that this team is 9 wins worse than last year with Tatum in place of Brown seems crazy.

I feel this team could crack the 60 win mark, JT is an upgrade over JB, and PG Is better than any #2 JB has ever played with. Robinson is a huge upgrade from Vucevic. I don’t like to invest too much in preseason but the results have shown that Robinson, Queta, Garza all destroy opposing teams on the offensive glass. Bench points will dominate other teams, I’m very excited for it

Vegas has Boston as the east 2 seed, with Philly right behind. 2-3 seed seems correct but I think we’re built better for the regular season than the playoffs

I certainly believe this team is clearly better than last year, even it is only 40 games from PG and Mitchell each. Everyone on the team have performed better with Tatum than JB for years now, especially Pritchard. Yeah, there is the fact that east got better and less incentives to lose games for tanking teams (the reasons why we actually got the record last year). All in all, our record will sit around the same I think. Maybe a few games more or less, depending on health issues and growth from our bench.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they win 60 games. Mazzulla wants to win every game and the team plays hard along with it. I say 57 with floor being 50.

We're going to be possibly the best team of all time. You guys are shooting way too low. Under Joe Mazzulla we have what would be the best net rating of all time when Jaylen is not on the court, and we turned him into PG and are probably going to be the highest volume three point shooting team ever, again, and the best possession team of all time. We literally won at a 67 win pace when Tatum came back last season, and that was *with* Brown.
Absolutely dominating shot distribution and possessions is less obvious to people than just overwhelming talent, but if you shoot 10-15 more threes and like 13 more shots overall than the other team (and many of those are transition opportunities), you are basically never going to lose.

We’ll earn the 5-seed, probably 45 wins 🤙
Lots of “load management” with the idea of trying to have a strong healthy squad for the playoffs
But we aren’t really a contender since we are all so new to each other.

I'm thinking somewhere in the range of 44 to 46 wins. They'll obviously beat the trash teams, but they'll be nothing more than a slightly above average team, just as ownership wants.
