Salin and Sun start off texting anonymously, and their love grows fast after they meet in person. I like how mature and thoughtful they are. They don’t start a fight when their relationship gets out. They realize it was an accident and take time to deal with it separately. I also like that Sun actually respects Salin’s independence. Sun never just opens the backdoors for Salin as a typical CEO boyfriend would. Even during the plagiarism crisis, Sun still believes in and encourages Salin to work and show his talent.

Sun and Salin can barely keep their hands off each other. It was adorable at first, like that one dancing-and-NC montage at Sun’s house. But the show slowly turns into Sun-and-Salin-boink-in-various-locations-the-show. They do a little random thing, then take off their clothes and get down to business. What they do in between barely matters, since it feels like an excuse for a new NC scene. It’s a shame the story ends up like that.

Speaking of things that don’t matter. Salin’s recurring nightmare plot didn’t really go anywhere or add drama. Salin kept seeing this random mystery woman and eventually learned a piece of history that somehow related to him. But none of that has anything to do with Salin’s relationship with Sun or his daily life. In the end, Salin magically knew exactly what to do to seal/release the mystery spirits in his dream. It could’ve all been edited out, and I wouldn’t even notice.

On the other hand, Yotha and Sam. I think Yotha is super adorable, and he makes me smile every time he shows up on screen. I like how Yotha and Sam talk through their sulking era and get their relationship back on track, and the little kiss afterward is so cute. That night in the office, with Yotha looking like a snack and Sam running his finger and lips all over Yotha’s face, is hawt. I’m amazed by Sam’s divine body. That make-out scene is well f-ing done.

Another thing I want to talk about is how long and slow the show is. It’s not a slow burn but a pot of water that never boils. The drama stretches so thin that it becomes insignificant. The ending is painfully boring and drags. It keeps going even though there’s barely anything left to show.

Overall, Sunset X Vibes is a 6/10 imo. Nothing bad, but nothing really stands out either. I like the relationships, but I also wanted a meaningful story to back them up.

I am recently re-reading the manhua Here U are and I think that Liu Jingyu the actor playing Xu Changyang in A winter sun wakes the wind in spring hills dream would be a very good choice for Li Huan if there is ever a live adaptation. They share the same lean and muscular physique . Though Li Huan is 196 cm and Jingyu is 187 cm that would still work quite well to me . I can picture him pulling the reserve demeanor of Li Huan . I didn't have a full body pic to show my point but I think from the pics here we can imagine.

Just hopping on here because I have to take a quick breather after episode 6. I haven't finished it yet so don't spoil the ending but wow how heartbreaking and refreshing is this? I have watched about 120 BL series now and this is the first time a sequel has felt like this. As hard as it is to watch I am actually enjoying a break from the pattern. Idk if it feels too real to things I have experienced previously or what - but just needed to express it somewhere! Ok, now on to episode 7! deep breath

Let me start by saying...I've been best friends with my partner for 20+ years. We decided to finally date 9!years later, and we've now been together almost 16 years... so the premise of this series hits the heart strings 😭 I actually discovered the show on another sub where the poster was asking for recs on friends 2 lovers content...and this was a rec..I saw if on Googoolala and started it today.... oh my gosh it's so incredibly sweet, and heart churning!.I love the gazes of the leads...the editing... the script that makes you feel for them. So good.

[A Winter Sun makes the wind in Spring Hills dream]

I’m writing this as a rant, cause I just finished this BL. It was one of the best pieces of queer media I have watched. this show was genuinely so good that the conversation around it pisses me off . what I mean is the way that the way this show was marketed and what it actually is are so completely different.

Initially, I started watching this show because I came across and edit on TikTok of the main leads making out and I was like that’s hot. I’m gonna watch it, however as I continue to watch it, I realized something about this show. While the Internet discourse around, it is about the romance and the chemistry. This show is seriously way more than that.

At the core of it all, the romances are the least interesting part of this show. Don’t get me wrong. The main leads are phenomenal. And the other romantic pairings are great to watch evolve. This show is so good it had me rooting for the villain and by the end I find myself rooting for the main villain, and when he passes away I found myself crying and grieving for him because he himself was a victim. The topic of forgiveness is done really well here.

But really this show is about grief. mental health, depression, loneliness as well as forgiveness and retribution. (it’s also kind spiritual)

I cannot say enough, how beautifully written the love stories are and not just between the romantic pairings, but also between the siblings, parental figures, friendships, even the professional relationship/co workers. It’s really about love across a spectrum of relationship archetypes.

more than that it’s about the patient of waiting for love, and it’s beautifully melancholic. Cause not everyone gets their happy ending.

I wish the marketing and the teasers portrayed that and I wish that that’s what people were speaking about when it comes to the show.

I was trying to find recommendations for a specific trope i.e. a love triangle where the love interests fall in love with one another. I find it it hard that very few books or stories exist for this trope. So far chatgpt has only been able to suggest me The love interest, the midland throne & love rival romance system, none which i have read, so just hoping it is correct.

Would love some more recommendations for this trope.
