What do they think Walt is doing with his time?
Are we supposed to assume he’s actively working at the car wash as a cover story? How does he have time for that with all of the illegal responsibilities he’s managing? Do Hank, Marie, or Jr never wonder where he is or what he’s doing?

None of them spend all day at the car wash to know that Walter isn't there. But even if they noticed his absence, I doubt they'd question it if Skylar isn't. Walt Jr and Marie would probably assume that Walt is taking it slow to deal with his cancer and mental health. Hank just doesn't think about it at all.

Walter needed to reach his quota per week. He doesnt have to work everyday.
He did visit the place often to bring his money there. No one would check if he is there 30-40 hours a day. Hank is busy with his own work.

He goes on long walks. He really enjoys the nature, you know, the cacti and such.

The truth is, most people are so engrossed in their own lives that they barely have bandwidth to wonder about other people’s.
That seems to be the case with the people around Walt. They fill in the blanks with what they know of him—he’s just off doing Walt things, getting chemo, being a dad, car wash.

Didn’t he win a lot gambling so he doesn’t have to work anyway he just owns the wash. He can do whatever he wants at home

depends on what part of the series
but i assume Walt Jr thinks his dad is just busy with work/cancer treatment for most of the series. doesnt take much to convince a teenager whos more concerned with school/friends
Skylar literally tells us what she thinks : he was having an affair and then realized he was a drug dealer
Hank and Marie dont live with Walt so wouldn't notice he's gone literally all the time, so no reason to think anything is suspicious. other than the early second cellphone to which they think Walt is having an affair and they learn about Skylar's affair.
so to most characters nothings really suspicious other than for Skylar and like i said she figures it out.

The car wash is probably his cover, but the show definitely glosses over how he manages everything without his family getting suspicious.

Walt somehow manages a double life with the time management skills of a full-time employee and a man who never sleeps.

It is implied several times throughout the series that Walt has built Jr a state-of-the-art handi-accesible bathroom that's in his room. It's never shown because it's never relative to the plot.

He was already disappearing off for hours at a time even before he got the car wash, so probably just thinking he's doing the same now as he was then

How much do we know about the other characters' weeks? Does Marie work 40 hours a week or 35? How much time does Hank spend in the field vs behind a desk? It's not really normal to know or to ask for an hour by hour break down of someone's week.
At the end of season 4 he clearly tells Hank and Marie that he's needed full time at the car wash.
If someone stops by the car wash and Walt isn't there, it's easy to say "oh, he's picking up a new shipment of air fresheners from the distributor" or "he's stopping by Costco to refill the Coke machine." Not to mention all the "he has a doctor's appointment" or "he needs to stop by the pharmacy to pick up his new meds."
