Ads auto blaring music, so I look like I'm playing my crappy music out loud

I wish the ground will swallow me up now

But you are watching content on your phone out loud?

Could be playing a game with the in-game audio switched off. Ads don't care about in-game settings.

Ah I didn't know that, thanks

No, no audio at all normally in game, except when the ads play

I didn't realise game ads would override your sound settings, that makes much more sense

In complete fairness, not did I! Which is why the shameful moment occurred

Yeah sometimes they do and it's annoying as my phone is on silent.

Free games are just a vehicle for ads with a skinner box attached. This should be expected.

So many “games” have basically no actual gameplay

Are you saying that pressing button to make number go up isn’t a compelling gameplay loop?

Isn't this the thing that made Cookie Clicker pop off?

I like to look at something like Vampire Survivors as an interesting example of this.

Strips away all the monetised incentives, and shows you directly how easily weaponised these loops are. It’s a very interesting little game in this context, and part of me believes this was explicitly made as an example for how dangerous these loops are.

I was hearing those gem sounds in my fucking sleep. No exaggeration.

But yeah. Cookie Clicker is pretty much the textbook example.

Digital crack.

Probably browsing Reddit and didn’t realise it was on, I’ve had that happen

The very thought of being out in public with my phone's media volume even on brings me out in cold sweats.

My guess is that the Russians hacked into your phone to sow annoyance among the populace.

I'm willing to blame the Ruskies if it means I can shift the embarrassment as well

You're playing your crappy adverts out loud, which is even worse.
