Question ❓ Couples therapist recommendations?

Hi all,

Does anyone have a good experience with an English speaking couples therapist they can recommend? Someone who actually made a positive impact on your relationship, or to you individually and might also work with couples.

Me and my partner have a few recurring patterns that we struggle with and want to work on, and have looked for therapists but got quite unlucky.

The first one cancelled our first appointment and said she would contact us to reschedule, then never did. A while later we booked a new appointment with her - she never showed and did not pick up her phone or respond to messages. She was recommended through a friend.

The second one had "psychologist" on her doctoranytime profile. I thought she was quite unprofessional and unorganised in her sessions, and eventually it turned out she wasn't a licensed psychologist, she was a "coach".

The third one, she is professional and friendly, but there are just no concrete tips on how to change the patterns we got stuck in, just none. I will bring this up in our next session and see how that develops.

But perhaps it makes more sense to look for a new one who is more hands on in giving concrete tips or exercises etc.

Looking for Dutch-speaking relational and emotional psychomotor therapist.

Like the title suggest, I am looking for a Dutch-speaking relational en emotional psycomotor therapist for kids in Brussels or surrounding areas (kraainem, zaventem, even Leuven) A simple Google search yields only French-speaking therapists or Dutch-speaking who are way far from Brussels area. If anyone knows a therapist, please send me a DM.

Question ❓ therapist suggestions?

hello everyone! i was wondering where i could find affordable but good (and potentially lgbt oriented, although it's not as necessary) therapists in brussels. i really need them to be affordable because 1. i live outside of brussels so i would need to pay for a train ticket before the sessions and 2. i'm an international student so i can't afford a high-end therapist at the moment. online sessions are also unfortunately not going to work for me. thanks in advance x

Question ❓ Therapist specialising in exposure therapy?

Hello people :) I'm looking for a therapist that specialises in ERP (it's a branch of CBT) for phobias. I do speak french but I'm not comfortable doing therapy in it, so it would be either English or Italian. Googling has produced no results. Do you know of anyone?

Question ❓ Help to find an Occupational Therapist for my kid who has CP

Hi there. Been looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for my kid who has Cerebral Palsy (CP) ideally also trained to help with eye therapies (yeah I know, we won the lottery!). Online searches are not very fruitful (limited details or not the right profile) and none of the recommendations we had from our doctors paned out (busy, not for kids, no experience with CP...). So I thought to myself no way Reddit is not going to deliver on this!

question English speaking therapists in Brussels?

Hey everyone. I'm looking for an English therapist in Brussels.

I tried the app better help which worked well but it's quite expensive I think and it kind of forces you to have a session a week to make it worth the subscription. (which would be too much for me) The therapist I went to in Brussels once was awful, didn't give me a receipt and cost 50€ per hour.

It would be for an adult, mid thirties, anxiety issues..

Any suggestions of where to search would be great too.

Also, how does it work in Belgium? How much should an hour cost? Can you expect a receipt to discount with your mutuality?

Thank you

Have a great weekend!

living in BXL therapist suggestions

Hey everyone! Your gyal is looking to go to therapy. I wanted to know if you had any suggestions regarding someone that worked well for you who would maybe suit me.

I'm 18 (so maybe someone who gets the "younger spirits"?) and am looking for someone who will interact with me (won't let me ramble for an hour while they stare in silence) and who will try to "find solutions" ; I do mean this in a very nuanced way, I'm not expecting somebody to fix my problems, but it would be nice if I could really feel like I'm moving forward in practice (thanks to fruitful advice). It would be great if they spoke french AND english (because it's sometimes easier to find a certain word in a certain language). If they're more leftist in their values as a person it would also be a plus.

I don't know if these criteria always matter when finding a therapist, but I would think so, just for the right vibe to get going.

Even if you know someone you would really recommend that doesn't necessarily check all my boxes, please do let me know! I'm ready to start healing and I don't want to be closeminded.

Thank you very much<3

question Looking for a therapist in Uccle/Ukkel, Vorst/Forest or Ixelles

I've already had 2 therapists but the first one was kinda mean and she basically blamed me for having problems and the other one was into stuff that I don't really believe in so I'd like to try a new one.

The problem is that I don't know how to search for it since there's only lists with names and a small description and I don't want to spend hundreds of euros trying 10 psychologists until I find the right one. Is there some kind website where you can put what you need and they find you someone that matches ? Or where you can sort the therapists by the type of problems they treat ?

I'm 18yo and it's for sadness, social anxiety and self image issues. And I speak French (I'd prefer a woman but I can accept a man).

Any help is very appreciated, thanks for reading !

Looking for a LGBT therapist/sexologist

Just moved in in Brussels and I'd like to go back to therapy. I did one in France a few years ago but this time since I want it to be more oriented towards gender, sexuality, LGBT+... questions I'd like to see someone who's open/specialized to these topics.

I'd like the person to be a sexologist as well if possible, and French/french speaking

DM me if you know anyone !

Hi, I would like to find a good speech therapist because I found myself speaking too quickly and not enunciating words without even realizing it.

Could anyone here please recommend me a good therapist who could help me?

Thanks!

(Preferably someone who works with Partenamut if possible. Also, I live in 1000, so the closer the better!)
