Turista Ajánlás | Tourist Recommendation How to make friends this week in Budapest

Hey everyone! I’m a 23 year old student from the US visiting Budapest for the first time. How do I meet people? So far I’ve heard it is quite normal to keep to yourself. I’m an extrovert so looking to find meaningful convos!!

You won't find it from locals, so go to bars/clubs where foreigners hang out and make some friends there! But, despite Hungarians' reputation for being closed off, ask yourself: would a German/Spaniard/Frenchman going to your hometown expect to be able to 'make friends' when they were visiting for a week? I know you're on holiday and enjoying yourself but the rest of us are just living our lives and not out to make new friends..

Only chance might be to make friends with other foreigners in some pubs, locals are not it unfortunately

Well what do you plan on doing? I think nightlife is always a great place to meet people. Alcohol is the best social lubricant there is

There are open volleyball, football and various sport "trainings" for beginners. It's a good spot to meet people and have fun. The language barrier might not help tho. Otherwise go to Instant fogas. Bunch of foreigners there, but don't get roofied please.

Go to parties, I think. There are lots of party places in BP, depending on what kind of music you like. The river embankment around Lánchíd is still open on weekends.
There are the touristy places like Instant-Fogas/Füge udvar/Gozsdu-udvar and then there are the actual real party places like Turbina, Toldi, Edith, A38, Arzenál, etc.

Sure it is, just look them up online, see the events they have in this period and buy a ticket for the ones you're most interested in

Idk what type of vibe you are looking for, most of the comment suggests to go to bar or club to meet people i guess they aight. If you just wanna grab a coffee and talk or join some board game night Dm me : )
