I was only able to find early voting daily counts for 2018 and 2022 and am waiting to hear back from the Board of Elections on other years. Although we're setting records for a midterm year, we have 38% less turn out than 2024 (compared up to day 3). Less turn out than a presidential year is expected but still disappointing.

I live across the street from it in those new apartments, so I stare at this thing every day and I still can’t figure it out.

It’s 20 stories tall in the middle of nowhere. The directory out front lists maybe three businesses, and most nights hardly any lights are on. The restaurant on the top floor finally closed recently, and from what I’ve heard the building has changed hands a bunch of times over the years. Who keeps buying it, and why?

Weirdest part: there is a rumor going around that someone may have fallen off of it a few months back. I work from home and saw nothing so am wondering if this is just a hoax or if it happened on the other side, along Tower Blvd rather than Petty road by the apartments

Hey Durhamites, could you folks be on the lookout for a stolen bike.

My 1977 Raleigh Record (Yellow and black) was stolen off my bike rack on the American Tobacco North deck while I saw a show at DPAC yesterday between 6:00-9:30 PM.

The bike isn’t really worth anything, it’s a 50 year old rusty steel bike with a hub shifter that doesn’t work correctly and is uncomfortable to ride. It’s functionally worthless. I’ve spoken with Durham PD and the parking deck security.

What isn’t worthless is that it was my dads bike he bought in college, and still has his auburn univiersity bike permit from 1977 on it. I imagine some kids took it and spun it around and probably threw it in a ditch somewhere. If anyone glances this by chance it would mean the world to me to send me a dm. Thank you.

Monica and I are hosting another neighborhood meeting about the proposed rezoning of Whitehall Terrace, the Wright House at 105 W. Knox Street across from Duke Park.

We’ve purchased the property and are continuing work on the house and grounds. Our proposal would allow massage, herbal education, and well-being classes as part of how we support the ongoing care of this place.

The rezoning to CN (D) is still pending.

New to the Raleigh/Durham area. Looking for recommendations on a shop you would trust that will perform a seamless installation.

Does anyone have experience building a home with Schumacher homes? My partner and I have land and we want to build. We have worked with an architect in the past as well as design build companies in Durham but feel the premium on a custom house isn't worth it. We're hoping to find a company that does quality work but has ready made floor plans and designs to make it more cost efficient.

Can anyone recommend a good medical lawyer?

I’ve spent the past year trying to get my complete medical records from my old eye doctor. He sold his practice to US Eye in 2023 and retired unexpectedly in 2025. When I requested my records (per their instructions), they sent me records from 2019-2024 and claimed not to have anything else.

Problem is, I’d been a patient since 2012 and had several eye surgeries and in-office procedures in 2012/2013 (including ICLs and iridotomies). I know the records exist because my doc referenced them when I scheduled cataract surgery in my right eye in 2024.

My new eye doc needs my complete records - he said it’s imperative to know what procedures are done (and how) because I’ll need cataract surgery in my left eye soon. I’ve tried emailing the records person and US Eye’s execs, but haven’t received a response since last year. I just recently sent certified demand letters, but since they’ve ghosted me for this long, I’m not optimistic that it’ll do anything.

Since I was an active patient since 2012, I would assume US Eye took possession of my records (either hard copy or electronically) when they bought his practice.

Any attorneys out there that can help light a fire under their butts?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for an experienced motorcycle rider who would be willing to help me rebuild my confidence on my motorcycle (Kawasaki Ninja 500) after being in an accident.

As a shorter female rider, my biggest struggle is balancing the bike, and the accident has definitely made me more nervous about getting back on. I do have riding experience, but I’d love to find someone patient who can help me ease back into it at my own pace without feeling pressured.
