Just For Fun Anything to do this weekend that wont cost much?

Title says it all, what's happening in town this weekend that seems like fun? Right now month end is creeping up so money is tight, but I'd love to hear what's happening that sounds fun.

Can be anything. A free concert, public art display, anything to do?

Weather is kinda kak so keep this one for a sunny day, but the PRASA Southern Line blue train from CBD to Simon's Town. It's around R20 for a return fare and there are some beautiful beaches to walk on and nice villages on that side to window shop. You could get off in Simon's Town and spend an hour or two walking towards Muizenberg and then just jump on the train back whenever you get bored. There's also a beach near Boulders Beach where you'll probably see some penguins without having to pay the entrance!

Any military training going on in Simon’s town as well this weekend if anyone knows?

Could be fun to go look at jets and ships doing their thing

I’ve done this and I absolutely love it. And meandering through kalk bay is such a treasure!

It’s open garden weekend. Google what gardens, places are near you and hosting people to come walk them.

My budget friendly situation is board games night on Friday, parkrun on Saturday plus maybe occasional cycling/hiking, ultimate frisbee on Sundays by beach and a swim. These are all free and there are many WhatsApp groups you can join for details around these hobbies. Also just searching Google or downloading meetup group can expose you to these as well.

Well, it's not the store anymore. It's essentially a memorial room in the science center where they store his personal collection of games and then also host game nights there.

Here's the link... They usually start at 6pm every Friday and depending on the game you are playing can finish at 2am sometimes!

I'm planning on attending the match on the 31st. Is there any good pregame venues or "tailgate" parties for Stormers games? My last game was 2007 at the old stadium.

Stormers is playing tomorrow, so avoid waterfront side during that time. Traffic is hectic going in and leaving when the game is done

'Lekker Chats' is having something on Sunday I believe, in Tamboerskloof. I think they have an IG account to post info about what they're doing and when/where etc. I believe it's free.

I attended the free art walk of the Institute for Creative Arts' (ICA) Live Art Festival on Thursday, it was world-class and I intend to return tonight, Saturday. https://humanities.uct.ac.za/ica/articles/2026-10-05-ica-live-art-festival-2026

The CoCT is ginormous. Where do you live? North, south, somewhere in between?
