Colosseum in B&W

Nearly 2,000 years later, the Colosseum still commands the imagination.

I chose black and white on this image to strip away the distractions and focus on the textures, contrasts, and enduring beauty of this extraordinary monument.

Some places you visit. Others leave a lasting impression long after you've returned home.

I wonder what more recent structures, such as the Sagrada Familia, will look like in 2,000 years.

I would be very surprised if most modern construction will hold up as well. To do it right cost more than most are willing to pay.
