Yeah, it's still in alpha testing and it's magnificent! It's other studios' standards of full release! Valve is really cooking on this one, and I'm so glad I managed to hop onto the bandwagon this early. Yesterday was the Baba release, so that kinda explains it.
I've been playing ever since the map was still 4 lane, and it's been really cool experiencing the game evolve from something very obviously a beta, to something I could very easily see being released today

Come on Orion take the hint here, Stringbean's not declaring you owe your life to the rest of the crew and should grovel on your knees. He's describing how none of the crew would currently be alive if they all followed your ruthless, utilitarian mindset and discarded each other like broken tools instead of treating each other like fellow living things that need to work together.
Likely by proxy by the only parents they knew which are the coats themselves who are looking at them in regards to how useful they are for their continued existence.
Very much a prison mindset of "prove your worth to us to continue existing" which leads to anxiety, sabotage, etc. Especially if your "peers" have a "I don't need to outrun the bear. Just you."
Yeah I think it's quite self evident. Orion sees the world like that because of developing in an environment where things were like that. For the experiments their suffering was quite transparently not actually their fault, but Orion was raised in a high agency environment, or at least a convincing enough impression of one to make them feel like whatever happened good or bad was their fault.
If they do so again... with it being only a few minutes ago, they really are a lost cause. I want my lil' porcelain idiot to finally crack but I don't want them to be left behind again, especially with a group that is this mentally holding each other up so well as a whole unit.

You're right. Milkies don't speak like that in game, but I feel like that adds to Onion's story. He tries to sound smarter and act higher because of his abandonment issues. He feels the need to appear useful, so if he can't be physically strong, he needs to be smart, strategic, and analytical, like the Scientists he used to know. Unfortunately, he seems to be mixing a genuine strategic mindset with the cruelty the Humans and other Milkies showed him.
Yeah, I think in the most part you're rigth, but I still can't believe he couldn't connect teddy and stringbean story, even if every experiment is different. Y'know what I mean

I am really enjoying these latest pages, honestly. Paralleling the two pairs’ discussions like this is really neat, and it’s some really poignant stuff, too… Teddy continues to just be unbearably sweet I love them so much…

The dancing loop of everyone lifts each other up from their low points and everyone keeps each other together because that’s what you do for the ones you care about TwT
Thus if you care about a friend or family member. You should equally value their friends and or people they consider family… You never know what they may have helped them go through :3
