Why are they called "Sawians"?

I have a theory that the name sawians came from the Polish capital Warsaw.

Well, Orsoniks probably didnt have any plan to name the entire species so he tookes saw from Gunsaw and used it

Because it comes from other Orsoniks game called "Gunsaw", so the characters are called "sawians". Also this game was made earlier than C:U

What other people have said about it being taken from gunsaw is true, but retcon wise it's from SAW which is an unknown acronym for something related to the genetics process or name of what they were doing to make the expies.

They were dubbed that because they're from Gunsaw, the lore reason though is because all sawian subspecies have the suffix SAW before their number designation, so they're called sawians.

I always think they mean Semi Automatic/Autonomous Weapon, as either bioweapon type classification for testing or when they end up becoming GUNSAWs where they are clearly evolved to use guns naturally with more human dna mixture or dominant genes.

They had a longterm plan it seems or just tried to do it eventually, but still they are a tool, a huge tool that will shape humanity and be used for nefarious things eventually. This seems in-theme to me and like when you downplay the enemy in war to feel better about shooting them and other dehumanization tactics.

Just a theory, definitely not confirmed or anything, but the Company likely discovered and named the planet first, and named them "sawians" for the express purpose of plausible deniability if they ever WERE caught. They could just claim that they're an alien species brought back for testing, and (in their minds) receive some leniency for their horrendus crimes.
