I wonder if something like this is like the standard cell for Expies or if they have like a communal living area (I also imagine some Expies have different cells for behavioral research, like some having really bad or really fancy cells)
Way more, iirc. On miraheze there are two PDA entries titled 'a day in life', it is nearly clearly stated that there are more than ten of them. But anyway, there are so many of them and a scale so huge that we can consider almost all headcanoning and fanfiction(in borders of logic ofc) 'canonical', as much as I dislike this term...
I've been wondering the same thing too. The answer I eventually settled on is that it's similar to a prison. Large, multi leveled hallway or room lined with tons of tiny, cramped cells. Expies are let out and allowed to commune with each other during the day and are required to go back into their cells during the night. If they're feeling generous, they let them sleep wherever they want in the main area.
IIRC it was more communial but after a riot and some talks about 'if one gets out' the higher ups got giga paranoid and kept them mostly isolated in cells, maybe with a few per cell because they have millions assumedly.
If we use the old PDAs then around a few hundred thousands, maybe? Like, millions is an absurd number even for the scale Orsoniks established in facts-he-does-not-want-to-elaborate-about. And also fck my memory, thought there were around 50K expies, not undefined...
They are the base fodder, it can be anywhere from at least 100k to near a million. Enough to not even bother to track.
They are bred for specific tests or bred with fecundity and are always needed or sent to the planet or missions like the planet just to cycle them out.
Most the other species top out pretty high and require usually a good bit of editing or arent allowed to breed due to danger, the knowing of the numbers assumes every one born or made or cloned is VERY controlled.
So if 50k is about high tier useful controlled, uncontrolled rat creatures would likely have way more, given its basically squared, it can go upwards of a million in extremes, given multiple space bases and centers or other abandoned planets used as holding sites that'd kill them if they left at all. Notably every other sub-species has the rat be the weakest genes and gets pushed out mostly if not near entirely so the rat rates of breeding may be unique.
This is not just a medical company but one thats doing extreme breakthroughs with every tech thanks to these guys, they are literally at the infinite money end of things just with investments probably in a world rich with resources because they access so many planets now with mining and cultivating, it's like all of humanity is accidently funding this atrocity to save human lives.

How are you not sure, you have greater athletics and capabilities and i heard sometimes are used to grab experiments for the guards so they dont have to!
I just wonder, will Orsoniks add some more PDAs in the release? Maybe, some more expanding on the overall state of the society. Like, if languages like Russian are still actively used. Or Chinese, or French. I think they would be, as in 2XXX they would probably still be ones of the most common languages.

I suppose this is either for research or punishment, beacuse otherwise this would prove ineffecient. Slightly bigger room with 4-6 subjects inside is way more effecient space wise, as well as allowing for quick groups
