Discussion First impressions
Hewwo!
I'm the one that made "I want to play that game but it's too much" post.
Despite my fear and litteraly crying while I saw the trailer I just couldn't resist playing a good survival with a furry character.
(I love furries and grew up on minecraft ^^")
I downloaded the demo and started my first playthrough.
It went... Smoothly!
I was really careful and got to a level 3 with only one paw bleed and hurting head. (Which was still painful to hear him whimpering... But managable) And then I stepped on the mine.
I got so scared and I just couldn't look at him whimpering and screaming from pain.
So I clicked the give up button thinking I will just leave the game out of fear................I got traumatised lmao I didn't mean to kill that little fella he was so scared when he started hearing beeping :cc
But okay I had a break and then came back for a second run.
And it went good! I learned from previous mistskes. But then I feel from a high place and dislocated my feet paw.... I got sad a bit again but not so much anymore. Maybe more of a frustration on myself that I allowed my expie to get hurt? Well I managed to get it fixed and litteraly bleed out from a spikey thing minute later.
And then I died again.
And again.
But with every death feeling of sadness went away... I mean I still couldn't bear the SFX and Dialouge of this little fella getting hurt.
But I actually started to ignore that and just enjoyed the game and got determined to go as far as possible.
I just love the visuals and overall music and sounds in this game they are gorgeous! I found myself just enjoying the artstyle more than actually trying to survive alot hah.
But then I finally locked in. Did everything I can to not let my expie suffer.
And I actually managed to get to half of level 2 without any injury and with high mental level.
Then it started to get tricky...
Well I didn't know anything about that game I found it from trailer and expie memes (the cute ones) so lots of the game is still a mystery to me.
Without knowledge - this game is HARD.
I had lots of trouble finding water and I still dont really know how to fill the bottles up or how sickness works...? But I managed to get lucky with trades.
I managed to get far into level 4 before falling to death while fighting something that look like a spider.
Sadly... That was worst death yet.
He was just lying down, slowly bleeding out, begging for the end.
But luckily I was prepared mentally and in game and just said goodbye to my little fella by making him... Overdose opium for faster death.
Yeah that game is sick.
But I love it!
Despite shreading a tear and getting my heart ripped off every minute by having a skill issue I still had lots of fun exploring and just enjoying the survival aspect of the game.
I still have a lot to discover but I have to say I'm 100% buying this game on full release.
7/10 - would give 9 but poor furry fella getting hurt is sad.

I'm having a harder time in my life right now. Got into a fight with my two best friends (they are furries yeah) that lead up to me leaving the group to save my mental health (relation went really toxic after half a year...) and in some sick way... Casualities unknown are soothing my intrusive thoughts. This game despite brutallity and making me really emotional is my safe space where I can just play a game with 2 things I love most. (Survival and furries). It makes my pain more bearable while I wait for it to go away and find courage to find new friends.

Staying in the pod on the custom setting with unchipped mode on and using console to never get hungry or thirsty and just constantly bark is a wholesome expierence...

Congratulations on being able to get into it despite how much of it got you emotional at first! You're well on your way to becoming a pretty darn good survivor. Sounds like your first few times went pretty well, so you can imagine how much better you'll get once you figure out the bits you're missing! it's nice to hear you're having fun with the game, too, this sounds like the ideal experience for trying it out, to be honest.

You are doing much better than me ingame.
Nice to see you enjoying it too, whenever I play I mentally talk to my lil guy and respond to his words so I tend to get very attached which is a horrible thing to do on a game like this but allows me to get through t a lot of the game with minimal injuries.
Will also be buying the full game upon release since I have fully paid my tuition fees for this semester :3

I still dont know how I get money for it because I have school, very low paid job, and debts to pay, but will try to buy it on release day >:3

Funny story: Originally leaving the game didnt kill your expie and just sent you to the menu as you expected, but because of this everyone would leave at the slightless inconvenience and just play like there are no consecuences.
Then the update that explodes your brain comes to change that, and all of us got traumatized like you did.

Maybe its better actually. If I just left without knowing what happens to him I would be sad I left him without my guidance to die.

It’s definitely a good experience. The whimpering never bothers me because it just sounds like a dog that needs to go outside to pee.
