Is OU ball talking to Texas or ND? I can’t tell

Edit: I’m so used to getting hated on that the can’t believe it’s not us this time!

Applies to both

Yes.

Yeah, most reasonable ND fans know we are in a very precarious position. Definitely not a lock.

Whichever of OU and ND gets ranked higher tonight is a lock. The other has to hope that at least one of BYU and Alabama lose.

Edit: Also, I'm a domer in Texas as well. And my cousin went to ONU, lol.

If they drop Alabama for losing the CCG that would be pretty bad precedent. I think they've said they wouldn't punish those losses.

They don’t have to drop Bama for losing. They’re currently the last team in. If BYU steals a bid, Bama would naturally be the next one out, no different than if they didn’t play at all.

We'll find out in ten minutes what the actual rankings are, but I suspect ND might be #10.

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

Alabama wouldn't be getting dropped if BYU wins and Alabama loses. The spot that they previously occupied would simply disappear.

Domer

ND's basically had their spot on lock and there's been no small amount of controversy about their place in the standings (to say nothing of their pretty easy November slate) whereas OU narrowly avoided an upset to LSU that would have ended their CFP hopes

ND's line is meant to be them gloating about their (alleged) cooked-in advantage with the committee

Boy did this age not only poorly but it's literally the exact opposite.

u/tb25uga /r/CFB Dead Pool Dec 04 '25

okay, clearly I didn't explain this well yesterday

Notre Dame is not addressing another team, they're talking directly to the viewer and boasting about their favorable treatment from the committee (and, even now, they're still ranked two places higher than Miami, who has the same record and beat ND head to head, for example)... this is not necessarily meant to reflect the general opinion of Notre Dame fans, but is simply a commentary on how the Committee views and has treated them

Additionally, since their win over USC on October 25th, Notre Dame has played BC, Navy, Pitt, Syracuse and Stanford... hardly murderer's row

Oklahoma, in that same time span, has had to win at Neyland and Bryant-Denny and also survived scares against Mizzou and LSU to secure their spot in the CFP field... in their eyes (and mine, for that matter) they've done far more to earn their spot than ND, but it's still been a precarious path... ergo, they're annoyed by Notre Dame's privileged position with the committee

literally any other team who's had to play a difficult November in pursuit of a CFP spot could have stood in for Oklahoma in this situation, that's just how the placement worked out

I like the simplicity of the Michigan gag

2

u/tb25uga /r/CFB Dead Pool Dec 03 '25

if they hadn't been so far apart, OSU woulda been chucking buckeyes at him in-between taunts... I think the simpler approach winds up being the better one, though

Iowa's presence in the top 25 is a surprise for sure, but a welcome one

2

u/OurHonor1870 Ohio State Buckeyes Dec 02 '25

Okay Senator Hawkeye, we’re choosing someone else to be chancellor. “A surprise but a welcome one” sounds like some Sith shit.

Just wait until you hear what song the Hawkeye Marching Band plays for Fourth Downs.

2

u/Callsign_Psycopath Georgia Bulldogs • Sickos Dec 03 '25

Just waiting for Hawkeye to drop out so he can sing Before I Forget

3

u/McDareMcDevil Dec 02 '25

I question it, but then again Michigan is there and sure as hell doesn't deserve to be.

4

Just happy to be included

3

Unfortunately there's a bit of a transparent spot right over Hawkeye's eyes

yep, I'm pretty sure I know how it happened and I've posted a corrected version... can't edit this post though...

fact is, it's all UMass's fault... if they'd won one damn game, I wouldn't have been messing around with the header once I did my final check! those Minutemen have some nerve!

Forgot to give JMU a CCG flag.

19

u/tb25uga /r/CFB Dead Pool Dec 02 '25

nope, they clinched a spot in the title game two weeks ago, so it was in the Week Thirteen Comic

I only do the pennants for one week, I figure that keeps it feeling topical and timely and it just feels like a neater approach

I like seeing tech like this.

Literally OU and ND should be swapped. OU is a lock; ND should be worried if BYU and Bama win

1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

Whichever of OU and ND gets ranked higher tonight is a lock. The other has to hope one of those teams lose. I get to hope one of those teams lose either way, lol.

1

u/RazgrizInfinity Oklahoma Sooners Dec 02 '25

I, mean, OU is gonna be ranked higher, this isn't even a question. Adam McClintock (who made the formula for Hancock and the CFP and has not been wrong), The CFB Professor, the BCSKnowHow, and Bill Connelly all said OU is firmly at #8.

Remember when Army won the AAC now AC title? Didn’t go well for them

2

u/Honestly_ Calgary Dinos Dec 02 '25

Are Iowa’s eyes detaching? 🤔

5

u/tb25uga /r/CFB Dead Pool Dec 02 '25

crap!

what happened was, I gave everyone a last look to make sure they all had the right eyes, conversation angles, etc and decided Iowa's eyes were riding too high so I fixed that... normally that's my last move before scaling and exporting, but this week I had the header gag with the UMass donut and, when I went to tweak that, I picked up and moved the main header text by mistake... must have done one undo too many

it's alright though, I've completed the arduous task of filling in the gaping chasm in Iowa's forehead, and I've uploaded the corrected version that should totally be used for the CFB Twitter post instead of this one
