Legally speaking, Rutgers is a MAC school now.

It should be a thing that if you beat a power 4 school the Group of 6 conference gets them for 3 years or something. Chaos.

I'm in favor of a pro-reg system where each Power conference is matched with a Group Of conference, and the top 2 from each Group Of conference swap places with the bottom 2 in their respective Power conference.
It'll never happen because that's not how conferences work, but still.

A lot of Michigan fans I've seen have been pretty regretful about the whole thing so far, but this is definitely accurate to a solid contingent of them. Fuck dude, Western Michigan won that game.

The most annoying part of this whole saga is seeing people say the game was rigged for Michigan. As the comic points out, Michigan had far more penalties, many of them drive killing. If the refs were "fixing" that game for UM, they would have been calling penalties on WMU drives to kill their momentum, especially the long drive in the second half. But most the commenters in the cfb sub are claiming that the refs entire plan to rig a game for Michigan came down to knowing that if they put 1 second back on the clock Michigan would complete a 50+ yard pass to win the game, when the longest pass play the entire game for them wasn't over 20 yards.
It's absolutely stupid to claim that was rigged if you have the least bit of common sense, people are just butthurt they didn't get the upset they wanted and invested their time in.

No I definitely think the most annoying part is that Michigan won a game they should've have lost, not anything else

I agree, except what is even more annoying in my opinion is that had the exact same thing happened except the roles were reversed (WMU down 12-7 with the ball), the refs never would have added that time back on the clock. I’ll agree that all officials are biased towards their conference to a degree, but in my 25 years of watching college football, the B1G refs are much more blatant about it than others. If any change comes from this, I would hope it’s a new rule that non conference matchups must be officiated by a neutral crew, similar to bowl games.

Must we forget a missed roughing the punter penalty that also would have sealed the game for WMU
2
u/Ill-Palpitation2340 Western Michigan Broncos Sep 08 '26
Also the missed face mask call on the play right before WMU kicked their last FG, which would have sealed the game

u/Jadaki Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26
That wouldn't have given them a first down, why do people make things up?

u/Own_Pop_9711 Michigan Wolverines Sep 07 '26
Even the announcer team said it would only be the 5 yard variety and not give a first down.

Is Akron a kitty? I had no idea they axed their kangaroo... but the more cats the merrier :3

We’ve still got Zippy. I’d imagine the tail just looks a little cat-like because a kangaroo one is awkward on polandball characters. (Idk about the ears tho)

Furry artists when you ask them to draw an animal that isn't a wolf, cat, or fox(I have grounds to make this joke as a scholar of the furry arts)

Born and raised in the state of Michigan and this is the most accurate representation of the overwhelming majority of the UM fanbase I have ever seen.

I’ve been mean about sending this but it’s still relevant and people are a-holes about it. To be nice I also did think the clock was gone for Michigan.

In Michigan's defense, they probably won't be able to celebrate the rest of the year if that performance is anything to go by

I love the MAC teams' depictions in this one so much. They're just little guys.
