Contest Sidebar Contest 2026: Results

Hello everyone,

The votes are in, and we have the results of this year's contest. We had a fairly close battle for first and second place almost the whole way through, and a tight race in the field from third to sixth. Each of the top five drawings will have time on the sidebar over the next few months of CFBBall, culminating in the champion comic going into the offseason.

As in the past, the rankings were tallied as points in reverse order (1st = 5 points, 2nd = 4 &c.). The total points accumulated divided by the total number of submitted polls = "Average Score". This average score determines the rankings and is presented below. There is also the consideration that since there were fewer votes per entry than total votes, there is also the popularity of the comic among those who considered it top 5. This is given here as "Fan Score". For example, if a post had 4 1st-place votes, 3 5th-place votes, and 5 no-votes, it would have an Average Score of 1.92 but a Fan Score of 3.29.

Anyway, without further ado, the results:

5: "Texas Hold 'Em" by u/BKfootball (Avg: 1.96, Fan: 2.65)

4: "Come and get some" by u/Bendypiexd (Avg: 2.07, Fan: 2.80)

3: "CFBball:New Vegas" by u/ProbablyProfound (Avg: 2.41, Fan: 3.10)

2: "Declaration of Independence (from the NCAA)" by u/LostinRabbitHole12 (avg 2.78, Fan: 3.00)

And our 2026 CFBBall Sidebar Champion:

1: "Dogs Playing Poker" by u/TyRoland06 (avg 3.19, Fan: 3.44)

Congratulations to u/TyRoland06 on his record-breaking third Sidebar Championship. Here's to another great season of r/CFBBall!

Contest CFBBallVision Song Contest 2026 Rules

IT'S TIME!

Here are the official rules and guidelines that will govern the inaugural CFBBallVision Song Contest! Be sure to read to the very end so that you can learn what prizes, yes, real prizes, can be won!

Here's a sampling of performances to jog your brain; also, a beginner's guide. It's Sweden heavy, but Sweden is a powerhouse. The Single Most Influential Eurovision Performance EVER. \ Winner of 1984 \ My Personal All-Time ESC Favorite \ The One That's In All The Memes \ Proof It Doesn't Have To Be Pop...Or Conventional...To Win It All \ A Beginner's Guide To Eurovision

FORMAT BASICS

  • One team per entry, one entry per person. Background characters/musicians and audience members accepted, but only one program can be portrayed in an entry, and only one team can represent an entry. (Note: Rival entries from the same fan base are allowed!) Any team from the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA, or U Sports, that has intercollegiate college football, is eligible to perform.

  • Submissions can be in any format, be it single panel, multi-panel, animated video, or slideshow with music.

  • All submissions must have the team name in the lower left corner of the submission, in a clear and visible font, and this must be on all panels for multi-panels, slideshows, and videos.

  • All submissions must have lyrics visible in the submission, and entrants must provide full lyrics as a comment underneath the submission.

  • All comic-only (not video or animated) must have a Spotify and/or YouTube link to the song used, so we can listen along! This link can be put in the same comment as the lyrics.

  • All videos/animation must have a link to the song used, posted with the lyrics.

  • Submissions must be put on Reddit with the following format: Team - Song Name.

  • All submissions must portray the main team and any background participants/musicians/etc. on a concert stage. Accoutrements, lighting effects, pyro, video boards, and any other fancy things are left up to you!

  • All songs must have lyrics. No instrumentals! Songs can be presently existing songs, or you may compose and perform your own!

  • Submissions may portray either a complete performance, or an excerpt, but all other requirements apply.

  • The contest opens for entries April 15, 2026. The deadline for submission is June 1, 2026. This is when voting will begin. Late entries will not be accepted.

PROHIBITIONS

  • ABSOLUTELY NO GENERATIVE AI MAY BE USED FOR AN ENTRY, FOR LYRICS, MUSIC, OR ARTWORK. USE WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.

  • NO SONGS WITH EXCESSIVELY PROFANE, POLITICAL, OR DISTASTEFUL LYRICS.

  • No fight songs or alma maters.

  • No previously submitted comics. All entries must be new, but re-used templates and assets are okay.

  • Once a song is used for an entry, it may not be used for a subsequent entry this year.

SUGGESTIONS

  • Costumes are strongly advised! The more colorful, the more bombastic, the more ridiculous, the better!

  • Any genre of music is welcome!

  • Remember, you want to put forth a performance that you feel best represents your team! The theme is up to you!

  • Watch this video for other ideas, and how such concepts may relate to your team. (There are a LOT of Eurovision Easter eggs and even past winners in this performance, but it will give you a really, really good idea of how over-the-top some performances can be.)

  • Just something to keep in mind: the contest this year takes place on Indiana's campus, in Bloomington, Indiana.

And now, the good part. PRIZES!

  • Second Runner Up (third place) will receive a $25 virtual gift card.

  • First Runner Up (second place) will receive a $50 virtual gift card.

  • The grand prize...are you ready? TWO TICKETS TO A DOMESTIC, NON-RIVALRY, NON-CONFERENCE COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME FOR THE 2026 SEASON.$

So yes, this isn't just being silly, there are major stakes!

VOTING

  • Voting is still being tinkered, but it will be a composite of both Reddit upvotes and jury-based Google form voting, which will be based on real Eurovision voting (12 points, 10 points, etc.) Voting will be explained at the deadline, but only one form per person will be accepted, and can not be modified once it's submitted. Unlike Eurovision though, voting is 100% free! Voting will close June 8, 2026. A winner will be announced June 10, 2026.

If you have any other questions, feel free to drop them in this thread, and I will do my best to respond!

$Winner is responsible for all parking, concession, transportation, and other costs associated with attending this game. Prize is for admission to the game only.

Oh, and one more thing...per the rules of the sub, no circle tool. Not even for stage decoration.

Contest Sideline Contest 2023: Results!

Hello everyone,

The votes are in and here are the results of this year's contest. There were so many great entries, but in the end, five stood above the rest. Each drawing will have its time on the sidebar over the next few months of CFBBall, culminating in the top two entries getting longer periods, the champion comic going into the offseason.

As in the past, the rankings were tallied as points in reverse order (1st = 5 points, 2nd = 4 &c.). The total points accumulated divided by the total number of submitted polls = "Average Score". This average score is then what determines the rankings and is presented below. There is also the consideration that since there were fewer votes per entry than total votes, there is also the popularity of the comic among those who considered it top 5. This is given here as "Fan score". Anyway, without further ado, the results:

#5 Building the Future of CFBBall by /u/tb25uga (avg 1.72; fan 2.38)
#4 The Ballsy Bunch by /u/Real_TSwany (avg 1.83; fan 2.75)
#3 Migration by /u/Bkfootball (avg 1.86; fan 2.68)
...
#2 A B1G Autumn Day by /u/SyMag (avg 3.22; fan 4.00)
...
And our CFBBall Sideline Champ:
#1 Shopping by /u/TyRoland06 (avg 3.86; fan 3.97)

Congrats! Here's to another great season of /r/CFBBall!!!

Contest /r/CFBBall Sideline contest 2023

r/CFBBall is having a contest to select comics that appear on the sidebar for the upcoming college football season! Last year we had a theme, for a somber reason, but the premise of a prompt is refreshing for creative competitions such as this. With that in mind, looking at all the shake up over the last year+ (yesterday even!), it makes sense to give a prompt that would've been just as apt a dozen years ago: Realignment. However you want to use that general theme to guide your artwork/comic, let the imagination flow free! If you do not use this prompt, that is fine, but there may be an impact on score come the fan-vote on whether you followed it or not. All that in mind, have fun!
