Before I felt happy we won I felt REALLY bad for that poor kid with the camera in his face.

Same, just disbelief and pain when he realized it. Dude was watching the ball from like 5+ yards out and just loss track of his position

Perfect marriage of Classic Era and Cignetti Era Hoosier Football: brilliant call on 4th and 4, first time Hoover throws it perfectly all game to a wide open Marsh for the go-ahead score...and he's way out of bounds. Hang it in Eskenazi!
13
u/Icer333 1h ago
I wouldn't call that perfectly. There's no reason to throw a toe tap sideline catch there. Throw it to the numbers

u/Mister_Jackpots Indiana Hoosiers 1h ago
Oh my god, dorks, just let me go back to making fun of Indiana football!

Great game overall, mental mistakes on both ends. "Fuck you and I'll see you in the final Big 10 championship game."

Amazing game. Disappointed they didn't get the monkey off their back, but hey they played til the end.

Ill just be happy with a playoff spot considering the schedule and qb situation right now.

u/Old_Active_1808 Ohio State Buckeyes 1h ago
2 weeks to see what the kid likes. He will run more. We have the receivers to create lanes. I like sayin but it be nice to have an extra dimension to the offense.

I don’t think you will. Indiana will lose at least 1 more. Should have lost to Nebraska

u/Historical-Cable-542 Ohio State Buckeyes 1h ago
No one won. That’s what happened. This was a loss all around. Drop both teams like 10 places each.

Exactly what I said when that was over. Especially with Julian out and...whatever Fahey just did. We're both goin down.

Everyone on Hoover, am I the only one thinking WR has to check his feet? That was a TD ball
16
u/LeKillerNut Ohio State Buckeyes 1h ago
That is 100% on Marsh. Lost them the game
11
u/SnooBooks1243 Georgia Bulldogs 1h ago
When watching the angle I was like he had plenty of room for an experienced WR

u/LeKillerNut Ohio State Buckeyes 1h ago
Yeah I think the first words after the celebrating was "Jeremiah doesn't do that"

If Marsh catches the ball above his head instead of basket catch, it probably turns his body and forces him to stay skinny near the sideline. Instead his momentum carries him too far, and his long stride takes him out of bounds.

u/missingjimmies Florida Gators 1h ago
It’s both. The QB had the whole endzone available, every square inch and that’s where it went.
And yea the WR had an opportunity to fix this issue with a bit more awareness and footwork.

u/Bullmoose39 Ohio State Buckeyes 1h ago
What a defensive war. After that game I don't expect Indiana to lose another game this year.
1
u/IndianaGunner Indiana Hoosiers 1h ago
Agreed. Old school defensive battle. The one X factor was #4. Marsh was soooo close to putting his name in lights too.

The team that manhandled Texas and blew it.

I had a different meme ready to post about losing after leading to "two top 5 teams in a row" but I'll just have to hold on to that one for another day.

Like how we almost blew it vs Indiana and got Lu Lu because we brought the house got no pressure, our Corner got left in a different time zone and the only reason it wasnt caught was because he celebrated early and stepped out of bounds?
2
u/thatwasagoodscan Indiana Hoosiers 1h ago
Right. You didn’t win it, we lost it. And I don’t what’s worse the QB you sent on or a dinged up Sayin who already looked awful.
2
u/Automatic-Extreme-11 36m ago
Well he probably dislocated his shoulder and will be out for several weeks most likely. So our true freshman QB was better than him in that moment. Hopefully gets better and can get us some wins.

That was two of the worst qb play I’ve ever seen. Minimum 3 first rd WRs on the field and couldn’t hit any of them.
2
u/sumdude51 Ohio State Buckeyes 1h ago
Throw in awful o-line play on both sides and baby you got a perfect take brewin!
2
u/BikingEngineer Ohio State Buckeyes 1h ago
I’m blaming a lot of Sayin’s play this year on our O-line. They’ve been porous all year, and crazily inconsistent, and it has Julian spooked. Last week he kept getting lit up from behind and he’s clearly shook. We’ll see how things go at USC in a few weeks, if he even plays after what I assume is a broken collarbone or frozen shoulder.
3
u/ACK_TRON 1h ago
Wasn’t just him…Hoover was bad too! IU receivers open all game.
2
u/BikingEngineer Ohio State Buckeyes 1h ago
For sure, though Hoover was apparently nearly doubled over in pain for most of the game which I can understand being a bit distracting.
4
u/AffectionateCycle916 Miami (OH) RedHawks 1h ago
Sayin missed a ton of open throws when he shouldnt. Like easy throws too. Also took two horrible sacks. He looked so rattled
1
u/OddBuy8266 Maryland Terrapins 24m ago
Saying is so slow, which doesn’t help him. And he’s not very big. It’s not a good combo when your o line isn’t doing great.
