Psychiatrist in Chiang Mai
I’m looking for a good psychiatrist. I’m not looking just to get my script filled but someone to review my medication and mental health plan.
Any recommendations?

Hi,
Struggling to find much online so hoping maybe someone here can point us in the right direction. We’re planning on getting married in Chiang Mai and really struggling to find a wedding celebrant.
I know we can get a wedding planner to arrange one for the day but we’d like to have a more personalised ceremony and want to choose a celebrant that feels authentic to us and be able to speak to them before the ceremony so they can personalise it to us.
We’re not religious but don’t mind if they’re also a minister.
Does anyone have any recommendations or leads?
Thanks in advance!

I've embraced the fact I'm balding, and have been using a "head balder" trimmer, and it only looks fine for like 2-3 days, and if I let it get to 3-4 days I have buzz cut my hair before the balder trimmer will work, and it takes like an hour. I want to get as smooth of a shave as I can on my bald ass head. Also I've got a facial hair look I've really been enjoying lately, it would be really nice to straight razor that too (same thing, on day 4-5 or so it all looks like it's about the same length and looks shabby. Would be a lot easier to get it done professionally, then just tough it up every couple days, because the touch up goes quick. Thank you 🙏🏼

Thanks in advance

Hi guys, I'm going to fly into Chiang Mai from Singapore in about two weeks and saw that I need to carry 20.000 Baht with me.
Are there any ATMs before Immigration where I would be able to withdraw the money?

We have two whole days (plus an afternoon) in town next month. We plan on spending one day strolling around the city & just nosying about.
Is there a MUST NOT MISS place or tour nearby that we have to see?
My wife speaks Thai if that helps.
We're reasonably fit but I'm not up to tough hikes.

I am a solo traveler and am curious about how to best experience the lantern festival this year. I will only be there on Nov 24th evening as I am flying out the next morning.
I don’t really have any intentions to buy tickets for the ticketed event and would love to have gone to Doi Saket Lake but I hear that is under construction and very likely won’t be celebrating to the same degree this year. I have heard some things about Lamphun potentially celebrating too so any information would be welcome :)
I am more than happy to watch the water lanterns float and hang around central Chiang Mai for parades and other celebrations but I’m curious whether there are any spots (even from a distance) where you could watch the sky lanterns float up and the fireworks.
Any experience / advice would be very much welcomed :)

I'll be in Chiang Mai in February and would like to go for a hike. I'm an experienced hiker/backpacker so I'm looking for something challenging and fun. I'm also an avid birder and want to go for a hike where I can also see local birds and possibly other wildlife.
I'm staying inside the old city. I would like to have a guide for the day along with pickup/drop off from my hotel. I would prefer hiking with trekking poles and I'll probably need a day pack as well. I'd really rather not bring any of my gear except for my binoculars.
I've reached out to a couple outfits but they haven't been that helpful. Also the price seems to run from $100 to $500 so I'm not sure if some are a bit scammy. I'm ok going with a group as well. Looking for any suggestions/experiences.

My wife and I were exploring Nimman’s nightlife tonight and had a couple of experiences that left us a little curious.
We came across a spot that seemed packed with locals and had a really great atmosphere, which is exactly why we wanted to check it out. When we approached, we were told it was full. Fair enough, it genuinely might have been. We kept walking…
About 30 seconds later, we tried another place down the street, where the guy at the entrance seemed to deliberately avoid acknowledging us for a good 15 seconds, despite us standing right in front of him. He was not meaningfully busy doing anything else—we were the only patrons anywhere near him. We eventually just walked away.
Neither experience on its own would’ve made us think twice, but having them happen back-to-back got us wondering whether there might be something else going on.
We’re not looking to call out any particular establishments or jump to conclusions about discrimination, just wanted to probe for other people’s experiences. We have had an otherwise amazing time here for the last 5 days.
Just genuinely curious: Have other Westerners had similar experiences with Nimman nightlife? Do any locals have a unique insight? Is there a bit of an unspoken preference for local clientele at certain spots, or did we just happen to have an awkward couple of minutes?

I just started photography with a Nikon z50ii and both base lenses (up to 250mm). looking for some spots that have exotic (for a middle European), but not too wild/dangerous or harmed animals. the equipment is probably not enough for "real" wildlife stuff but I'm ok with stuff like the lizards at the lumpini park

I'll be in Chiang Mai area in November/December and have just realized the lantern event will take place during that time.
Is there a place nearby that you recommend where it will be less crowded (and hopefully cheaper) ? I was told Pai might also get busy.
I am not particularly interested by the event and would love to find a place peaceful 🙏

This is my second visit to Chiang Mai, and I've already played around the ancient city. I hope to find places to travel around Chiang Mai (close to nature and climb mountains). In addition, I arrived in Chiang Mai on the Lantern Festival. I want to know what activities I can't miss. Thank you and look forward to your answer.

Hey guys so I’m planning a wedding in chiang mai at a small venue we’ve selected it will be 20-30 people so a small intimate vibe. I want to ideally not use a wedding planner and do like a DIY backyard style wedding nothing too fancy but not too cheap looking. I was wondering if anyone had any experience on this? Where to rent or hire chairs takes decor lighting ect any companies that offer a bar service ect

Anyone can recommend professional registered qualified condominium inspection company? All I could find was unqualified people who are trying to do engineer job. Their scope of inspection is pretty mundane. Some are just plain rude because they couldn’t answer technical questions. It is alright if they aren’t based in chiang mai as long as they are open to travel.

I am a Buddhist. I am interested in meditation, but I have never studied it systematically. What do you recommend? I can't speak Thai, so simple everyday English is fine.

Hi all
Any thoughts on how to find a personal trainer and gym for a guy in his early 60s, in Chiang Mai.
Regarding gyms, I’m looking for a “high end”, very clean and air-conditioned place. I’m not so concerned about the cost.
Regarding a trainer, I guess I could ask at any recommended gym. But if anyone has other thoughts, kindly let me know.
I am only looking to do light weights or machines to help me get stronger while I age. But I have to be careful not to hurt myself. So I won’t be doing anything too crazy.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey y’all,
I have no experience on motorbikes or scooters. No motorcycle license or international drivers license but I believe they’ll still let me ride. I’ve rode normal bicycles and ATVs and stuff which is of course very different. A guy I met wants to rent bikes and go to Pai . I was in the heat of the moment and said yes but now I’m questioning it upon research. I’m 8 days into my backpacking trip and I got a lot more to go. I am so nervous about crashing and ruining the trip. But on the other hand, I’m so nervous that if I don’t do this - which sounds so freeing and fun- that I’ll regret it or not feel I was taking chances as a young man. I used to take more risks but now I guess I’m just thinking of the rest of my trip and how I really don’t want to potentially break something and ruin the trip. But trips like this is about taking chances right? I don’t know I think this decision has brought an existential crisis for me for some reason and I can use help.
