Definitely Sellers is a better prospect than swain. We should have picked Lebaron

The Bulls rims aren't used to getting all these dunks, must have messed the shot clock up

u/Omnipootent 1d ago
I didnt watch but is normal Powell not our most valuable addition to this young roster? Like so valuable it might be one of the best signings possible
6
u/Electrical_Story5356 1d ago
Quite possibly, his elite ultra efficient scoring keeps us competitive plus doesn't take away development opportunities and he actually seems really dedicated to getting around the young guys and helping them out.
1
u/Omnipootent 1d ago
Thats what im saying, future coach kind of guy who can mentor multiple roles of our team. I just feel like im too excited to have him for what he is, but he is the perfect complement, and im ignoring this year. Hope he sticks around and builds relationships with the boys
1
u/ItsChrisAgain12 Derrick Rose 1d ago
We need a good 20 games minimum to truly assess what this team looks like
4
u/Omnipootent 1d ago
Yes, as whole of course, but norm could not be a better signing and im pretty stoked him out of all people is here for the youngins?
2
u/ItsChrisAgain12 Derrick Rose 1d ago
Oh hell ya! Definitely agree with that
2
u/Omnipootent 1d ago
Seems like a fever dream to have him here, like maybe a future coach kinda guy. The standout to me lol. So excited for Miller giddey and Wilson to learn from the guy, they all can
10
u/MisterxRager Benny The Bull 1d ago
We got a bullshit ass schedule to start so I’m predicting a slow start but I love the character of these guys, I think they find their footing late first half. But it won’t be easy for these established teams.

Ok refs
3
u/rando562 1d ago
Clearly has his arm pulled down before the contact with the elbow. Not sure what the refs were looking at there
-1
u/Effective_Scar_2921 1d ago
Buzelis needs to do a lot of work on his clutch shooting. He can’t seem to hit any corner threes.
4
u/Hot_Leading6572 1d ago
I was clowned when I said Sellers makes the team during summer league. Reminds me of a young Fox
1
u/Electrical_Story5356 1d ago
Sellers goes hard, I like him but I seriously doubt he will be seeing meaningful regular season minutes unless we have a lot of injuries.
7
u/burratna 1d ago
Tiago is even making PW look OK on short minutes, I'm dying
He'll never reach his contract. Period. But am I wrong? The dude just looks ready for a 15 minute MAX, or preferably less, type of role lmao.
If he adopts that after we paid him a fool's ransom then fuck my ass, this guy might be in the league longer than Felicio.
3
u/tamazingg Chance The Rapper 1d ago
We love to hate on him but I think he does stay in the league for a long time. 3&d wings are always in demand, and while he's not that good I can see him settling into a bench role on a team where that's all he's expected to do (and they're paying him less than 10 mil a year lol)
2
u/Electrical_Story5356 1d ago
100%, Guys his size capable at going 40% from 3 and being good defensively across multiple positions will always have a place on a bench somewhere he's only trash for a top 4 pick on starter money, as a second rounder on $6mill you'd be absolutely stoked with what he brings.

u/ProfessionalTalker03 Matas Buzelis 1d ago
Can the Wolves broadcast move on from this minimal ass contact play that they didn’t call 😭
8
u/OccidoViper 1d ago
Sellers plays relentlessly like a young Westbrook. Not saying he’s as good but the style is similar
3
u/Effective_Scar_2921 1d ago
This spectacular young player,Sellers might have hurt his hand on that outstanding dunk. I hope not.
1
u/theclownwithafrown Joakim Noah 1d ago
My guess is it's tingling from a nerve being activated after that hard dunk and fall. But I'm no doctor and I haven't even played one on TV

Each game he's shown flashes of progression I'm feeling much better about him long term
3
u/Fullborn 1d ago
He looks really good as a slasher and cutter. That is as a 2'nd side attacker he is actually really good. Defensively he looks good. But the shooting is probably going to be something they need to juggle.

I think with how norm and buddy's contracts are structured.. if we decide to move from either of them at the deadline, sellers could get the call up
1
u/ItsChrisAgain12 Derrick Rose 1d ago
And we know Norm will be a hot commodity, he may be at his peak as a player right now

It's kind of wild that our deep rotation still has 3 lottery picks in it.
2
u/Fullborn 1d ago
The bulls have alot of guy's. Might do a depth chart post but they are deep at every position other than to some extent SF but particularly PG.
1
u/Electrical_Story5356 1d ago
While we don't have an SF specialist even that slot is stacked with any of Lenny, Swain, Noa, Pwilly, Matas, Caleb and even Giddey perfectly capable of doing a good job there.
PG though is shallow but at least the 2 we have are really good in the position especially as facilitators.
1
u/Fullborn 1d ago
I do think Lenny can slot there. Caleb no, the ballhandling skill just isn't quite there. I think Sellers could slide up though. noah is a PF, you just won't have the handling with him at SF. You can probably make it all work it's pretty fluid in the nba now. Okoro actually could probably slide to SF he has the handle and driving ability.
In todays game its a bit more how the 2-3-and 4 fit together with regards to overall driving, handling passing and self creation chops than set positions.
Edit: i agree giddey can play it but he and tre will need to be staggered and with him on court it doesn't make sense to make him a SF rather than run the show.

u/theclownwithafrown Joakim Noah 1d ago
Ummm Ayo is incredible. I knew he was gonna be a great player since his freshman season at Illinois
1
3
u/ItsChrisAgain12 Derrick Rose 1d ago
Ya losing him will always sting, watching him get ridiculously better every season was such a pleasure
2
u/theclownwithafrown Joakim Noah 1d ago
Yeah as a lifelong Illinois fan I'm excited him and Shannon play together now but I was so excited when he got drafted to us
Especially since he's a Chicago kid. Just like my favorite of all time. Derrick Rose
4
u/aftertheleaves Derrick Jones Jr 1d ago
This game is inherently fun. But it's even more fun because the call is also fun.

Amin and Scott have some good chemistry, I'm enjoying the banter
3
u/AmosNotSpelling 1d ago
Oh good! We were at the game and they looked like they were laughing and really having a good conversation. I think Scott is the best option on paper
3
u/ScutumSobiescianum 1d ago
I haven’t been able to watch the game today. How is Giddey doing?
13
u/ItsChrisAgain12 Derrick Rose 1d ago
He's been facilitating like nobody else, he's gonna be just fine. I'm sick of the others panicking about him, he's the perfect pg for this squad
5
u/Fullborn 1d ago
He looks better. His handle is improved. He looks stronger. He is taking tougher jump shots and didn't make them today but it indicates its levelled up. Taking care of the ball and getting to the line. Offball the cutting and rebounding has been good, and defensively he has looked much improved even from last year where he was better again.
People who are concerned are legitimately blind and have no idea of what are signs of player skill progression and improvement. Which makes sense volume scorers were overrated for ages that wouldn't be the case if your average fan could look at them and correctly ascertain they sucked ass.
2
u/DJ-two-timing-timmy 1d ago
It’s pre season too where he is clearly trying to get players involved and give them reps, deferring his own shot at times for others. Let’s see what the proper season brings
1
u/Fullborn 1d ago
I think it'll be similar to tonight but more aggressive driving. Probably similar aggression from three. In 35 minutes he'd but up at around 17-18 shots for tonight. Don't see him being too much above that (they do have high pace though).
15
u/themanofax Chicago Bulls 1d ago
I feel like Scott Williams is the closest to Stacy of all the guest commentators so far. Wouldn't mind seeing him get the job full time. Obviously there's no replacing Stacy though.
11
u/Fullborn 1d ago
I think what's impressed me most besides the chemistry is that he clearly actually knows his stuff. He's done his research and i'm actually learning stuff about the players.

u/vernacularSpectacle 1d ago
I mean we basically just been bullying 2nd/3rd stringers and bad teams the last few games. The games against Denver and phoenix is probably a closer approximation of how we’d perform in regular season

Ugh the regression of silly P Willy is killer. 15 mil a year is criminal I used to defend this guy he can't even show up in the preseason anymore. He's not even a bum slayer anymore 😭

Matas has been attacking the boards a lot this pre season
3
u/Zealousideal-Battle9 Josh Giddey 1d ago
Tre said he worked on his finishing angles off the glass and you can tell. He's going to have another level if he can finish at the rim with elite efficiently
1
u/Fullborn 1d ago
He finished with elite efficiency last year though? were you not paying attention?
2
u/Zealousideal-Battle9 Josh Giddey 1d ago
*with higher volume, didn't really need the sass thanks though
2
u/Fullborn 1d ago
Sorry didn't mean it that way. Not sure tre can really up the volume already takes half his shots at the rim nearly and finishes at 70%. That's about as elite as a guard can get.
1
u/Zealousideal-Battle9 Josh Giddey 1d ago
All good! My thought process was he won't be as scared to shoot even around bigs like Wemby or Gobert by finding better angles and keep making them and maintain his efficiency or even have another level more than elite and keep being the most efficient player under 6'5" maybe even of all season. He's had trouble staying on the court and I think he'll be less prone to injuries too because he doesn't have to slash as hard and find as many weird contortionist angles.
3
u/ItsChrisAgain12 Derrick Rose 1d ago
I'm hype Neil Funk soo many potential hits for us at the forward position
4
u/WittedChain9 Stacey King 1d ago
Love watching Tre jones get to work
3
u/ItsChrisAgain12 Derrick Rose 1d ago
He has been kinda peaking as a player, bulls fans definitely know what's up he's one of the best undersized players in the NBA at this point

Who won Dunkin race?
Also of all the damn skits and shows the so show during breaks and intermission why not show the Dunkin race?
3
u/ItsChrisAgain12 Derrick Rose 1d ago
I can't wait to watch CDub block Tatum this season I hope it happens hahah
4
u/cchemdogg 1d ago
Caleb’s only glaring weak points being handles and free throws is best case scenario imo. cuz you know that’s improving. he’s already such a problem lol sky’s the limit fr
1
u/ItsChrisAgain12 Derrick Rose 1d ago
Seriously, sky might be the limit he might be a problem can't wait to see it in the regular season
2
u/HighKingSwizzle 1d ago
I really dont care if its the preseason. Talk about the game. Why is Adam and Scott just having seperate convos while caleb is knocing down 3s
4
u/Optimal_Expert5530 1d ago
Don’t see a reason why Caleb can’t be a perineal all star eventually. He’s already insanely productive while being extremely raw. Once he develops he’ll just be straight up good at everything. If he ever develops a handle he’s one the best players in the league
0
u/Fullborn 1d ago
Hold the horses. Inside he looks great. The 3 ball looks real enough. But his nondunk finishing is very rough to be a star you need that plus self creation chops.
This is likely why he looks great then meh then great. If teams can keep him away from the rim he gets mostly shut down.
He looks like he'll be a problem for sure though.
6
u/themanofax Chicago Bulls 1d ago
Not to be that guy but it's spelled perennial. Perineal all star would mean he has an all star gooch LMAO
7
u/Confident_Spread_270 1d ago
I think he'd prefer to be a 'perennial' allstar. Perineal allstar is something none of us want to be 😆

u/realKingBuster 1d ago
I'm as optimistic as anyone but the Bucks and Timberwolves have strictly played their 2nd and 3rd string guys only in these preseason games. Can't wait to see how the Bulls measure up to the Raptors, Bucks and Wizards to start the real season
2
u/groovycooltunes 1d ago
I think you guys win 30-32 games this season. Love the ball movement & slashing, I think it would be like this regardless if it was Boston, etc.
3
u/theclownwithafrown Joakim Noah 1d ago
Crazy the wizards are the team people look at to test themselves now
1
u/realKingBuster 1d ago
I pointed them out because a lot of this early schedule is really rough. Celtics and Knicks a bunch. Trial by fire for November imo
2
u/theclownwithafrown Joakim Noah 1d ago
Okay it's my first game I've got to watch over the pre season. Just tuned in. I'm excited to get this season started! And Illini basketball has an exhibition game tomorrow too!
6
u/JohnnyQuicksand 1d ago
I like that Caleb doesn’t get frustrated after blowing an assignment or turning the ball over. He comes back and makes a play almost immediately. And even though his shot selection is questionable, he has that alpha mindset. We desperately need that.
3
u/Fullborn 1d ago
I think he's highly coachable which is a good sign. He took one of the dumbest shots ever a mid ranger one on one with 20 seconds on the clock in transition. Then time out got pulled and directly after that way higher intensity defensively and really attacked the rim.
That to me is a great sign. He has bad tendencies as all rookies do but he absolutely listens to the coach and can implement feedback in game.
1
u/HighKingSwizzle 1d ago
Does anyone else think this guy commentating with Adam is talking too much and kind of annoying... or is it just me?
2
u/Fullborn 1d ago
I think of all the guys on so far he at least shows some personality which is a + in my book.
Stacey could be annoying at times too, talk a lot "throw it into the post he's open""mouse in the wheel house" but he showed character which alot of people liked.
But yeah hopefully they find a good pairing not sure this guys it.

Jury is still out on Graham but thank god AKME isn't here to fuck this core up somehow
5

5
u/aftertheleaves Derrick Jones Jr 1d ago edited 1d ago
Scott Williams. Not only is he significantly more engaging and natural than the other guys in the "rotation", he is just good, full stop. And if any of us can say that earnestly with our hearts still raw after Stacey, I think that counts for a lot.
2
u/Halgrind Flag of Chicago 1d ago
Some will say it's Scott Williams but I think it's Sam Richardson doing a character.

Another game vs g-league team and they lost 100+ points again, not great. Why Bulls didn't play reserve squad at least once ?
