He’s setting up a little campaign stop on his car right next to a municipal voting place and someone comes out and tells him to leave. He starts getting defensive
“The law is 100 meters from a PROVINCIAL voting place, I’m 150 meters from the evergreen hall!”
“I’m not the one who called this election so close to the other!”
So ridiculous lmfao

We're relatively new to Chilliwack but we're going to vote in this election here.
So wanting to know more about the candidates and their objectives.
Looking for open feedback, positive or negative about specific candidates. Who is really thinking about the common man? What are their track records?

Hi friends!
Looking to promote a workshop for mid November and wanting to post flyers in acceptable places. Do you know of any public or private places where they allow posting of community events and happenings?
I’ve been building a list and I’m sure I don’t know half the places that would be possible :)

Who is that person that you see in Chilliwack all the time or everywhere, but you actually don't know them personally?

Just wanted to share that FortisBC has introduced a $4,000 rebate for eligible homeowner furnace looking to upgrade to a dual-fuel heating system (gas furnace + heat pump), with $8,000 available for income-qualified households.
With the rising cost of everything these days, it’s a great opportunity to save on the upfront cost of a new system, with the added benefit of potentially saving on monthly energy bills too.
I’m a bit of a local HVAC nerd, so if you’re considering an upgrade, I’d be happy to chat, answer any questions, and help you figure out whether a dual-fuel system and the rebate actually make sense for your home.
Feel free to message me here or on my cell!

Howdy!
I recently got an old Delta 22-540c thickness planer off of marketplace.
Wondering if anybody could or knows someone willing to clean and service it for payment. Looking specifically to replace all the grease, clean the rollers and replace the blades.
I purchased new blades, springs for the blades, grease and some mineral spirits to do it myself but im realizing it might be out of my comort zone and Im not sure I have a good space for the take down.
Thanks.

Looking for a mobile mechanic in Chilliwack, does anyone have a good recommendation? The situation that my car has is that the oil pressure light came on so I don't want to drive it anywhere. The light flutters on/off when idle and turns off when the car starts to move. Although recently the light stayed on solid even after the vehicle moved so now I've got concerns. A quick google search of my issue says that it could be the oil pressure sensor (a common failure point for my car). However it could be something worse and I don't have the tools to check oil pressure and such so I think a wise thing to do would be to have someone take a look at it
Thank you.
[EDIT] Over 3k views without any actual recommendation of a mobile mechanic. Perhaps there is a business opportunity here for someone that's mechanically inclined? Seems like a massive void in this category of services.

Anyone know where in town to get a few rapid covid tests? We've checked Walmart but they don't offer them anymore.
Don't comment if you're going to call Covid a myth or anything dumb like that. These are immune compromised elders I just need to be sure about it just being a long case of the flu.

⚠️ My experience with ForeverHomes CatRescue — Please be cautious.
I want to share my experience with a cat rescue in BC because I’m genuinely heartbroken and concerned.
Recently, I made the incredibly difficult decision to surrender my two cats, Chloe and Diesel, to ForeverHomes CatRescue. I trusted this rescue to provide them with a safe, loving environment.
Since Sunday, I’ve repeatedly asked for something incredibly simple: one photo of each cat so I could see that they’re okay.
For almost an entire week, I was told:
* “I’ll do it tomorrow.”
* “I forgot.”
* “I promise I’ll do it tomorrow.”
* “Remind me again.”
Despite multiple promises, I have yet to receive a single photo.
When I finally expressed my frustration, the conversation became defensive and hostile. I was told that I couldn’t possibly understand how difficult running a rescue is.
Eventually, I asked to have my cats returned. The rescue agreed, but told me I must e-transfer $60 for their microchips before we could even arrange a pickup.
I have NEVER refused to pay the $60. I have repeatedly offered to pay the full amount when collecting my cats. That offer has been rejected.
I understand that animal rescue is incredibly demanding, and I respect the people who dedicate their lives to helping animals. However, I also believe communication, transparency, and professionalism are important when people are trusting you with their beloved pets.
I am not making accusations of animal abuse, but I believe my concerns deserve to be taken seriously. I plan to contact the BC SPCA to request guidance and report my concerns.
I’m sharing this because I believe other pet owners deserve to know about my experience before making such an emotional and permanent decision.
Please research any rescue thoroughly, ask questions, and make sure you understand the surrender agreement before signing anything.
I just want to know that Chloe and Diesel are safe.

For the past few years I have noticed a trend and just wondering if I’ve missed the memo. I have driven for 40+ years and was taught to pull up to the car in front at a stop light to where you can see their rear tires. I often see drivers stopping and leaving 1 or 2 car lengths between the vehicle in front of them. Why such a big gap? With how much traffic we now have in Chilliwack, why not pull up so that more vehicles can get through the light? Is it just me noticing this?

I live in an apartment with only garbage and recycling. I’m wondering where I can get rid of my garden waste (old soil, dead plants) preferably for free. When I used to live in a house, I could just fill the big green waste bag and put it on the street and they would take it. I can’t bring myself to throw it into the general trash. I live in Northern chilliwack. Any suggestions appreciated.

So I have my mayoral and school trustee votes figured out, but at a loss with most of the city council nominees. I plan to do some research but help me out....any christofascist, convoy supporting, anti science folks on the list?
