If you’re slow you get passed. Welcome to the valley.

I’ve passed and been passed. Sometimes you need to make a game time decision and not pass. Your idea of a good time isn’t worth making another person’s time worse.
I’ve been mega runout linking pitches only to see a simul climber unclipping my gear. I’ve solod stuff and waited on people that weren’t comfortable.
It’s the last pitch. Just wait and use that time to order a helmet that actually fits your head.

Passing on the last pitch is just bad vibes for everyone involved. Hardly worth it.

a little extra context - these folks decided to pass with zero communication and were not faster, resulting in a cluster of ropes and this terrible belay where they are literally kicking the anchor. Passing is totally fine but be faster and communicate with the party ahead of you.

Why attempt to pass on the last pitch?
Also why are you guys belaying in this awful spot when there’s a nice comfy spot like 15’ above?

I've only passed once and we free solo'd the pitch. ofc I'm not an experienced pitch passer but we figured if we're gonna do it, we gotta be super fast about it.

Had my own little adventure on Nutcracker several years ago. After I did the mantle and was on the slab above it a soloist came up right behind me. The slab isn't real hard but it isn't trivial. If I had slipped I would have knocked him off. Him dying from his stupidity wouldn't bother me as much as the possibility of him hitting my wife on the way down.

Can we have some context? I don't really understand
