Hello again!!!
It's been a while since I've posted about my manga one-shot I'm currently working on, so I think it's about time I update you guys on the progress I've made. 😊
Since it's a manga, read RIGHT TO LEFT, TOP TO BOTTOM, just so nobody gets confused.
If you guys could rate anything,(EXCEPT THE ART, i know it's terrible right now (especially the first like 10 pages). It's only rough thumbnails to know where stuff should go)please just tell me so. Dialogue, comedy, how interesting the characters are in the first half of this one-shot, etc.
For some context, the story takes place in Rural England. I'll try my best to make it more apparent in my later sketches, but it's not very noticeable since a lot of the backgrounds aren't even done (cuz im lazy).
I have my DMs open if you ever wanna get more involved in my journey, and as usual,
have a wonderful day my guys. ❤️❤️❤️

I think everything flows pretty nicely. You're mixing in a lot of different vantage points which keeps things dynamic but not jarring. You occasionally break the panel borders, but it's done well and with intention. Good job overall.
My only criticism, and maybe this is a general Manga thing (I don't read it and wouldn't know), but you leave larger margins between some panels and the page border. I've seen other artists in this sub do this and it just looks odd to me. Not necessarily bad and this may just be a cultural/ stylistic difference between eastern and western comics.
If you’re talking about the empty sides on each of the pages, there’s actually a reason why it’s done!
During printing, the nodo (grey area) is basically a clear zone between pages so that the author knows what will DEFINITELY be cut off during the final print and bind, so keeping that area clear (unless you really don’t care if what’s inside is gone (i.e full page spreads) is pretty important so that no dialogue is accidentally cut off.
I see. Like I said, I've seen other Manga influenced artists here do that as an intentional style thing, and assumed you were doing the same. I think it's shaping up well!
It is a cute story and I like the characters so far.
Do you intend to publish online or on paper? Online will lead to a wider audience faster, but would also make your current plan to use Japanese-style print arrangement not necessary. I also wonder if that would limit the number of publishers who would be willing to look at your work for printing.
I intend on submitting it into a contest. The Kadokawa World Manga Contest to be exact, so the print arrangement is not necesserily required.
On the other hand, I think that in the contest, they also take composition into account, and I've seen in all the past contest winners that they consistently used the layout. I know it's a vague "correlation", but if it worked for them, hopefully it will work for me too.
I also wanna get a printed version for myself (for keepsakes anyways), so that's also why I'm arranging it like that.
