Question Remaindered Hulk #181 valuation?

Post image

I am going through my Dad's old comics, and I found the original first appearance of wolverine. However, the cover has the top 1/3 intentionally cut off. I just learned some cursory info about how publishers would give CBSs credit if they sent back a piece of products that weren't selling, but my real question is this: what is the demand for remaindered comic books like this? This seems like a really cool thing, but on CGC idk if it would even get a 1.0. Thoughts?

Looking around, i'm seeing i probably put this in the wrong board... but it sounds like fun, so here's my shelfed trade paperbacks :)

That Norse Mythology book doesn’t get half the love it deserves. Really wonderful stuff

I'd say that's going to get a .5 to 1.0. Nice find. I see a .5 on eBay that's entirely coverless so it gets a nice green label. With only the top third missing, it should get a blue label.

I think you want comicbookspeculation or something like that. Google says that would likely get immediate drop to .5 grade due to the cover being partially missing . Honestly I would just try to print out as close as I could replacement just to make a really nice display piece.

But if you are looking to sell, definitely dont make any modifications, Google says it still has value, but definitely look in to it yourself. Im just some dude on the internet

The title was cut off so that the comic store or newsstands owner can get the credit for the books that didn’t sell and send the top half to the publisher. The books were then supposed to be destroyed, so my opinion this book is even more rare than most.
