NYCC - New York photo op cosplay etiquette?

hey all, i’m going to NYCC for the first time tomorrow, which i am very excited about! i will be going in cosplay as a jojo’s character, and i was wondering if there is a general rule of thumb for meeting celebrities while wearing cosplay. there are a few photo ops that i’m very tempted to partake in, but i don’t want to make things awkward if i show up to meet a star trek actor, for instance, while dressed as a character NOT from star trek lol. does anyone have any insight on this? should i do an outfit change halfway through the day, or am i making a mountain out of a molehill?

They won’t care. They understand people dress up as characters from different fandoms.

They probably won't really care, or at least won't say anything about it. You pay for the photo op, you can dress up however you want. Your photo op interaction is less than 1 minute, don't over think things. If you want to do it in your cosplay, go for it. If you'd rather change into something else, do that.

Yeah they don’t care and as an ex booth worker unless they do that characters voice or watch the particular anime they probably won’t know who you are.

However, if they do know and worked on that character in any way prepare for an awesome engagement w that person.

You're giving them money to stand next to them for 10 seconds. They don't care.

Nobody is going to care what you’re wearing
