I've had some medical professionals see that I'm nonbinary, look at me, and assume that I'm afab. Which perhaps they also see the estrogen prescription on my chart and take the wrong conclusion, but either way it's definitely a bit awkward getting asked when my last period was and having to explain.

So many people seem to have this set idea in their heads on what to expect when they hear trans or nonbinary, and get awkward about it when it suddenly doesn't match. Surprise, we're people and not some monolithic group!

Funny that you say that. Pretty much everyone I met so far who said they were nonbinary was afab. I wonder if there's some statistics on that.

My experience is the opposite, the first enbies to come out while I knew them were amabs.

Same, I can think of a few AFAB but mostly AMAB. I assume it's partly regional and partly depends on where you go on social media.

I'm a trans man and from my perspective most of the AFAB NBs I've known turned out to be trans men early in their transition, including myself.
