Oh this hit home. I was once married to a trans man who passed like 💯. People never clocked him, they sometimes refused to even believe him when he did tell them.
He mostly liked it in normal life, but when we went to the hospital for his hysterectomy, I had to stand right by his gurney right up until they wheeled him into surgery, because it was a big busy hospital, and medical people would walk up, look at him, look at his chart, and say “oh there’s been a mistake here”.
And I had to be like NO THERE HAS NOT, YES this is the patient and YES this patient is having a HYSTERECTOMY. We were very worried some random doctor would flip out and somehow stop him getting his surgery.
It happened with like five different people and then I had to talk to them VERY firmly. So yeah this is an issue for female to male trans people.
