Actually, now that I think about it, I wonder if the Reds/Cardinals/Nationals/Phillies/etc have seen sales figures change for different hat color schemes over the last decade or so…
I'm a Red Sox fan and I love my alt hat that is red. Fortunately, it is old and faded, so it won't be confused with a MAGA hat.
IIRC, a lot of lefty Nats fans purposely have worn the blue alternate cap because of the connotation of a red hat with a "W" on it when the team first started in DC back in the '00s
