Had a customer rant to me about Juneteenth and how "the wrong race got a holiday" and the banks should be open. Dude, you're in a grocery store, please stop being racist to me 😠I'm being paid minimum wage for this
Juneteenth did kinda screw me over this year. I had to mail a package by June 19th, and they would have been able to get it there on time if the post office wasn't closed for Juneteenth.
Although last year I drove to the DMV, and it was closed for Confederate Memorial Day, so I guess it evens out... sorta?
That was my reaction at the DMV. Turns out it's regonized in many Southern States, and in Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina, and Texas it's a state holiday. In South Carolina (where I'm from), it was made a mandatory state-close holiday in 2000 to appease racists so they could pass MLK Jr. Day.
