*err on the side of caution

Strong agree though. Nazis can have no safe spaces. It’s the tolerance paradox at play.

I fucking hate the tolerance paradox infographic.

Literally no one ever read the damn book it came from, The Open Society and It's Enemies, Volume 2.

Two points about the book:

  1. The book is talking about... Karl Marx. Yes, the enemy of the open society that we shouldn't be tolerant towards are Marxists. You can read the book if you want, the entire thing is about how intolerant socialists are.

  2. The conclusion of Popper is the exact opposite of that infographic. He says that people need to be able to debate those ideas and scrutinize them, instead of just pretending they don't exist by banning them.

Every single time someone brings up the Tolerance Paradox is because of that shit infographic that has NOTHING to do with what Popper actually wrote.

Well then he is wrong. There is no debating someone out of their hate. Nazi, fascist, etc don't change until something in their life is affected enough to cause them enough pain to want to change.
Then you may be able to debate/discuss them into real change. Until then they only want you to fight or fawn.
Therefore there is no reason to tolerate anyone who has hate as an ethos.

If you want to say the guy is wrong (which I kinda agree, specially in Volume 1 when he rants about Plato but also suggests not banning it) at least read the book instead of making your opinion based a random internet infographic
