I call people duck.
49 u/momomomorgatron Aug 28 '26 I'm here, eating my breakfast in the US, reading about how people in the middle of england call each other duck And you're like "yeah,I just call everybody duck" I don't know, I just find it hilarious and cute 21 u/Lil_Brown_Bat Aug 28 '26 Same. Let's import this. 15 u/unrefrigeratedmeat Aug 28 '26 We should call everyone "duck", but lets also randomly call people "goose" and then run away from them. 1 u/blanketswithsmallpox Aug 29 '26 Brilliant. 3 u/ApplianceHealer Aug 28 '26 Adorable (TIL) but alas, someone here in the US will mis-hear it as being called a fuck, and fly into a murderous rage because of the DiSrEsPeCt. 2 u/AltharaD Aug 28 '26 “Ey up, duck” is one I’ve heard from Yorkshire friends. I’ve also heard “How are you doing, my love/lovely” - mostly from other women. In East London I’ve heard “hello gorgeous” even between two men addressing each other. Regional variations and nuances are fascinating. 5 u/[deleted] Aug 28 '26 [removed] — view removed comment 2 u/psychedelica_ Aug 28 '26 GOATED pfp I haven’t seen that man in ages 1 u/NullSterne Aug 28 '26 I call everyone baby chicken. 1 u/Separate_Animator110 Aug 28 '26 So would you call a kid a ducking?
