As a Brit, I appreciate you actually giving our food a chance instead of going “BuT I ThOuGhT ThEy OnLy AtE BeAnS On ToAsT”

Side note: Beans on toast is delicious. Particularly if you use nice bread, and add a little bit of cheese and barbecue sauce.

That’s a weird way to spell Worcestershire and brown sauce.

To be fair, there's no NON-weird way to spell Worcestershire!

Thought I was going crazy when I read barbecue sauce too. I don't even live in the UK anymore but always have brown sauce on hand.

lol blame it on my having lived in the USA for the last decade. Can’t get easy access to brown sauce so I decided to try BBQ one day and liked the result.

Also a good combo! I’m a bigger fan of BBQ but brown and worscester works really well too.

Being a lover of a good Beans on Toast, I’ve never heard anyone have it with Barbecue sauce. Might have to try that now

It's not just tasty it's also a great poverty or low effort meal. A supermarket brand can will run you around 25-50p for 400g. 4 slices of bread is around 30p, a little bit of butter and cheese to top it off, around 50p for 50g, you've got a fairly rounded meal that takes 5 mins to make, hearthy and gives you a really solid amount of kcals and protein.

Basically anyone can make this and can be done with a toaster and microwave so not even a stove/oven/grill is required.

A little bit of butter in the beans, cook them til the sauce thickens more. Drizzle some chilli oil over it and grate a blend of cheddar and parmesan. Bacon strips for extra points.

Nah. I ate beans on toast when I was ill like 10 years ago and the smell or sight of baked beans still makes me feel sick.
