So I don't eat filtration organs in any cuisine (nothing to do with the taste except in the rare case of liver - I just don't intellectually like the idea of filtration organs being consumed), and I managed to eat well and eat very good food the whole 9 months I was in the UK. I genuinely do not understand folks who make these sweeping judgements.

Proper scones! PASTIES! Fish and chips absolutely cannot be beat. Honeycomb chocolate! I ate vegetables and fruits that I had never experienced in the US, like TURNIPS and PARSNIPS bc they're just not super popular in most US cuisines. I did not like marmite and was shunned, but I was instructed on proper preparation of a cream tea. (Which, why hasn't the US picked up clotted cream?!?)

A FULL ENGLISH. A FULL SCOTTISH. I don't eat the beans BUT WHY HAVEN'T I BEEN EATING FRIED TOMATOES AND MUSHROOMS WITH MY BREAKFAST THIS WHOLE TIME?!

There's genuinely so much to enjoy even if they made fun of me for all the milk I drink 🤣

If it makes you feel better UK wide clotted cream is a newish thing. I work with a woman who can remember it being something you asked holidaying family members to bring back from Cornwall.
