Stargate

● Start with the movie and watch them in order

● Looks like ancient Egypt in space

● In summary, the present is horrible for everyone but us

● JJ Abrams has not ruined it... yet

Start with the movie and watch them in order

But skip that one episode in the first season. The bizarrely racist one about a mono-race society that treats women like property, kidnaps the female lead character, and concludes with her forced into in a gladiatorial deathmatch for her freedom. Why yes, that exact same thing happens in TNG, because the exact same person wrote both episodes.

Oh come on, we're watching Hank Hill in space, it's not like the ancient aliens are any less racist

Man, I feel like there's dozens of episodes in both series where a mono-race society based on stereotypes of real peoples believes X bad thing, because of that they do Y bad thing to team member, but team member is so competent their existence and behaviour is a direct refutation of X bad thing.

Star Trek's downfall only began with Abrams. For some reason, he then recommended Alex Kurtzman to Paramount when they were looking for someone to create new Star Trek content. Thanks to him, the franchise is now on life support.

In fact JJ Abrams should have directed Space Cop. And Rich Evans should have directed people to their seats in the theater.

Looks like ancient Egypt in space

As opposed to Stargate SG-1:

  • Looks like Vancouver in space.

All planets are Vancouver.

JJ Abrams has not ruined it... yet

SYFY (and now Amazon) beat him to it. SYFY canned SGU and Amazon canned the new series before it even began. :(

This is a weapon of terror. It's made to intimidate the enemy.

This is a weapon of war. It's made to kill your enemy.
