Wait that's a thing? I've been a lot of hotels throughout my entire life, but I've never seen anything like this. In my experience bathrooms are just another room where you can only see them if the door is open

And maybe? Self-voyeurs? I stayed at a hotel in Lisbon in April, and they had a huge floor-to-ceiling mirror placed right in front of the toilet, so you could (actually, kind of had to) watch yourself take a dump. I have no idea why they thought this would be a good idea, except for the niche pervert market.

Also unofficially to discourage room sharing for work travel.

Made the exact same type of comment in this post.

This is the correct answer.

5 business men pick up 2 girls and do wild things in these hotel rooms. Ask people in the hospitality industry and find out 🤢

The hotel I stayed in had a frosted glass door at a 90 degree from the shower.

You were not watching TV through the door.  Maybe voyeurism, but I think the real reason was to try to make a postage stamp sized room feel less cramped

Yeah, they seem to be getting more common in Europe. I forgot which country I was visiting (it was a few years ago), but I remember it was difficult to find a hotel without that design.

It’s so you can watch your partner or escort shower.

I've seen so many open hotel rooms or with glass doors. It's horrible.

Very common in China and South Korea, I'd imagine other countries in the area too.
