Almost every hotel in Germany and Austria use these. They claim it's to make the room feel bigger, more premium, and to let natural light into the bathroom.
Supposedly Europeans don't care so much about the privacy but care more about it looking new. This seems to need partially true because I rarely found complaints about the glass bathrooms in hotel reviews.
I went out of my way to check all hotel pictures to make sure they don't have this, but I missed one or two when traveling with my dad. It was not great. Not just the silhouette of us pooping or showering but also glass doors have a gap that doesn't block light or smell from coming out.
In Austria they commonly put the shower in the main sleeping room with no frosting on the glass walls. That did get bad reviews and luckily I didn't end up with one of those rooms.
